A few gripes here

Just so we all don't look like fanboy's here... we should have a sticky of things we DON'T like about the new G35. Who knows, maybe some of the issues will get addressed in next years model.

I'm pretty happy but I do have a few gripes. Here's mine...

1. Seat heaters are so weak they are pointless. By the time the seats heat up the cars warm and you don't need them.

2. Lack of interior storage space. Glovebox is small and center console
storage compartment is like 5" x 5" and that's pretty much it. I wish they had dropped the rear AC vents and gave some useful storage space in the center console. I liked the old style side pockets in the doors better than
the drink holder things too. The old compartments were at least big enough
to put maps in.

3. I'm a lot happier about the SOW once I figured out I could get some bottom end by setting F/R fader a couple clicks toward the front but
stereo still could really use a bass boost button for those of us who like a
little more bottom end.

4. Cold idle on start up seems a little high. Mine runs about 2000 RPM
when cranked cold. Does cold idle really need to be this high? There may be a legimate reason for this, not sure.

5. Arm rests are a little out of place for someone that's tall (6'2") with short legs for someone who's 6'2" and tall upper body. If I rest my elbows on the center console pad and the door armrest I have to droop my shoulders which makes by back hurt after a while (even with the east bottomed out). I always end up resting my left elbow on the top edge of the door next to the glass but the center console just sits to far back for me to use as a right arm rest.

- Small trunk compared to previous year models and even smaller trunk opening if you get the NAV package (which moves the changer to the trunk). - That's a mojor for me.

- Rear seats don't fold down

- Chrome lip spoiler: While I don't mind the look of it, I DO mind the finger prints on it.

- You can't rip music off the CF card

The few gripes I've had so far:

- Interior storage space

- There isn't (that I can find) a mute button for the stereo, my previous car had this on the steering wheel and it was very convenient.

Railgunner, you might want to have the seat heaters looked at. I drove Shane's car and they heated up fast and much warmer and faster than my '04 coupe.

My seat heaters are definitely slow and even on high they're not all that noticable.

I agree Deane. I used my seat heaters on my way home yesterday and they work very well. They heat up quickly and get quite hot on high.

Hmmm, that's strange because Shane's were quite warm in the high position and I only had them on for about 3 minutes.

Maybe that's because nothing will keep in -30 temps.

As for the chrome spoiler lip, use the handle in the trunk lid. I discovered that one about two days after delivery, no fingerprints since! Takes so little effort to close the trunk lid it's fairly simple.

But yeah, seat heaters are not cool (or perhaps they're just too cool).

Hmm...I havent had that problem yet, but then again, I still have the piece of paper on top (that the service dept uses). I called the parts people about the all-season floor mats and they said parts arent available yet for the new G.

WAIT! Are you saying the driver's side mat doesn't have that anchoring pin to hold it in place?

It does have an anchoring pin, if someone's mat is slipping it may have come off the pin? I haven't had any problem like that.

It does... GiveMe might want to check, when I initially took delivery of my car, the dealership had put some other mats in there that didn't fit right, which I didn't notice until I went home. I called and they got me the right mats from wherever they had them stashed... so make sure you get the right ones.
