It was an addition, and becomes the primary family car.
'04 Subaru WRX Wagon is now the backup family car
'05 Honda S2000 is my "weekend" car
I still enjoy the S2000 the most

Definitely an upgrade for me!
'01 Pontiac Sunfire < '03 Mazda 6 < '08 G35 Sport
And with an engagement ring, a house, and eventually kids coming.....I see this as the nicest car I'll ever own

I had a 2007 VW Jetta Wolfsburg, that replaced a 2004 Toyota Tacoma Doublecab Prerunner TRD (which I loved, but wasn't practical for work).

Huge upgrade, 08 G35x w/ Prem, Nav and Sport coming from a 98 Grand Prix GTP.
Before that it was a 97 Saturn SC1 and before that...a 89 Plymouth Horizon...
Keep in mind I'm 22.

I just got the G35x with everything, upgraded from a 1998 nissan maxima. I've driven, cared for, changed parts, and beat on it for 4 years. It has been more reliable and better built than the current g35. Somewhere along the line Nissan/Infiniti stopped making quality matter. I've had more crap trim wise fall off the infiniti than iny my almost 11 year old car! The quality of the plastics is good but the way they put **** together is terrible, I can imagine in 6 years some of these seams just busting apart.
