Thanks for all the input Chrisbel!!! Now I know what to expect, I guess I could have just waited and checked it all out, but I am just too excited at the moment.

And if it doesnt show the song info, what does it show? Just what the audio source is?
If you are driving it will not show song info on the nav unit. It does not distinguish between song info and video. Originally Posted by hokiesean24

You will see a basically grey screen that says "Aux" in the corner.
Hey, check this out... Could this actually work? It doesn't seem like it would be able to send video feed out through the headphone jack. If it could it would alleviate the problem of not being able to hook up the output to the Nav unit and hooking it to a car charger for longer trips?!?! What do you guys think?

I may be wrong, but I'm guessing that this is a generic of the creative proprietary cable, which must be plugged into the dongle. I don't think that you can get video out of the headphone jack with any cable. This cable, with the dongle, would allow for charging in the car.Originally Posted by hokiesean24

But, as I said, this is all speculation on my part.
yeah, I am speculating too. It might be worth checking it out though for like $10... If it works it would be nice to be able to get the audio/video out and charge the player.

i took a look at the zen vision a while ago, and i thought it used a standard 1/8" minijack for all three signals (composite video, l/r audio).
If you look at a standard stereo l/r headphone jack, it has two segments. one for the left and one for the right channel. most video devices use a cable that has 3 segments, left, right and video.
This looks like what the zen vision is supposed to use. l/r stereo segment size is a fixed size and standardized thus any standard headphone jack will work with audio (unless you have a horribly stupid device). Usually, the standards don't leave alot of wiggle room for proprietary cables to do odd things with the video signal, thus in most cases the same cable tends to work. I believe that the apple ipod's video cable does something odd with the video signal separation which is why a custom cable is required, but the connector on the 1/8" jack is the same as any A/V 1/8" jack I think.
