Did it give you a dash light "LIMIT REACHED " or something? Or just stopped accelerating?

Could have been due to wind, the surface you were driving on etc.. it's easy to lose 5mph due to wind at speeds like that.

G-WHIZZER; it just stops accelerating, same as the G.

No light, no message, just stopped going.

I doubt it since it pulled pretty hard up to that limit. The car barely broke a sweat. It seemed as if the car could have easily gotten to 165 with the kind of pull it had up in that range. Plus it was only up to 5300-5400 rpms at that speed.

The pic is very blurry, but u can make out the speed and rpm's. It's a bit hard to hold a camera still while doing that speed (and covering your eyes!)

" kinda upset about top speed"

It's not about as fast as you can go, but how long it takes you to go fast.

On the street, sure. On the track is a whole different story. But then I'm sure you know that.

I think we need a form of the autobahn here in the states. Why do those Germans get to have all the fun? Obviously, you would need to prequalify to dirve on this american autobahn...we don't want any grandmas going 45 on it or anything LOL, wouldn't that be nice.

Talking about driving over the posted speed limit is illegal and an unsafe practice, and we should not be discussing this on this forum (according to Canuck), this could pose a liability issue for G35Driver.

hypocritical maybe .... hmmmm

That could never work here in the States. Most Americans have no idea how to drive on an expressway. I drive I-95 everyday and see more and more inconsiderate drivers every day. The stretch of I-95 I drive will be getting 2 additional toll lanes (should be finished in about 10 years) and that still won't help matters. People should have to learn how to drive on the highway and then there needs to be traffic enforcement to make sure they do. Not in my lifetime!

I know I-10 is raised to 80 in some areas, but I know nothing of 90. I also know that 90 is about average for people traveling through the state. I used to drive on I-10, I-35, and I-37 - not to mention HWY 59, and it wasn't uncommon to see traffic moving at 90 or even higher. If conditions were right, the police officers didn't even look at you funny.
