I hear you. I can get up to 80 on the on ramp to I-95 where I live and then it's back down to 55. 80 would be terrific!

80 means you can set the cruise at about 87 with no worries. It makes all the desolation pass more quickly. I think Texas did it to preserve the sanity of those forced to travel coast to coast through its wastelands.

Wrong, in my 911 at Mid-Ohio down the back straight I can hit 160 mph and at Grattan I hit 135 mph.

Dude, with 640 RWP on your Porsche, can't you pretty much hit 160 in parking lots??

Yeah but alot of cars would hit more than 80 mph at these tracks as well. I just was responding to the above statement.

I think the OP stated that the ATUO is limited to 135 not the 6spd. Without posting any actual speeds or the right or wrongs of driving that fast. The 135 limit seems accurate after reading a number of posts about this on different forums.

The 3 is 150 with the sport package. The Germans usually do 130 except for some sort of sport package, M, S, AMG, etc. I've always liked how Lexus lets even the LS go nearly 150. Of course we'd never do it, but it's nice to know it's there. I mean how many people need 300-600 HP? What is the purpose of cars with over 700 ft. lbs. of torque except to say you've got it? No different from having a 5-bed home, does anyone really have a family that large, realistically? Man always wants more.

I don't know about other states, but here in California driving over 100mph on a public road gets you a chance at being arrested and thrown in jail. Not hardly worth it in my opinion. Being the owner of a highly modified Turbo Supra, I still keep it under that magic number to keep myself out of jail!
Top speed driving in any car, even on a race track, that is not prepped for safety (including 10-16 point roll cage, fuel cell, race harness safety belts, and possibly even on board fire suppression, just to name a few) is an act of suicide. Do it on the street and now you are risking other lives besides your own. Dumb, very dumb.
