well some 1998 Integra type-r came without sunfoof, AC, and insulations just to achieive 100 lbs advantage from the regular integra. correct me if I'm wrong.

I just got barely over 2000 miles last week on the engine and the MPG went up to 22.5 after a week's driving of mixed highway and local streets. I'm in S. CA live in LA and works in Orange County.

Let's see if MPG improves after 5000 miles...

Oh, and I asked my friend who has a BMW 335i about his MPG... he said something about going 360 miles with 10 gallons....

It sure has DI -- but no way in hell is it giving 36 mpg LOL

35mph average, I went as high as 80mph at times, and at times, I'm sitting in traffic barely moving.

i'm in jersey and every place i fill up at is using 10% ethanol. Is this the case in all the other states? Is this even good for the car?

It's ok, but you will see a drop in MPG since Ethanol has a lesser energy content that regular gas. That's why E85 is a joke. Go check out the Tahoe on E85.... 12 MPG highway!

Quit mashing the gas pedal.....it will get better! My concern is that gas
will hit $4.00 a gal this summer.

Don't get me wrong.. 70lbs is a good amount... and weight is the enemy.. but the 3600+ lbs car is just not going to see much in the way of MPG savings.
70lbs is a huge amount when the weight is up high or on the suspension parts.

what the hell i'm getting ripped off! who lives in north jersey where they don't mix in ethanol? i've been going to sunoco/bp/shell

I've had my G35X for almost a week now and have gone through my first tank of gas. I average about 19.5 MPG and am pretty satisfied as it is still being broken in and considering some are getting sub-15 MPG.

Since i've had my first fill-up, I put in 93 Octane and with 100 mil after the fill-up and after resetting the trip computer, I am average 21.4MPG.

G35S 6MT, 10 days old. First tank was about 22 MPG, second tank (not done yet) 21.2 MPG. Both tanks 70% local roads, 30% highway, essentially no stop-and-go.

6MT drivers, check out page 5-16, upper left corner, of the owner's manual. These "normal acceleration" shift speeds result in very low RPMs, all under 2000. The engine is quite happy at 1500 RPM, so you can shift a lot sooner than you may think (I know, I know...what's the fun in that???)

The gear ratios are spaced pretty close, so in routine driving I find myself skipping gears (e.g., 1-3-5-6) to help mileage.

Of course if I were THAT concerned with mileage I would have bought a Prius or Civic.......
