Sunroof Finisher

Has anyone here fixed the sunroof finisher themself? I had the sunroof open yesterday since it was a nice day and the sunroof finisher came completely off and landed on the center console.

Looking at the bulletin, it looks somewhat straight forward but it looks like I will need to purchase fabric tape (whatever that is ). Anyways, I was just wondering if there are any tips/tricks to reattaching it.

Oh, before someone suggests taking it to the dealer, they are an 8 hour return trip from me so I'd rather not make the trek if I don't have to.

Take it to the dealer...

Sorry bro..

I haven't encountered the problem yet (knock on wood) so I can't help. Does it look like it can be glued back into place? How about Super Glue?

You should be okay Daniel as it was only cars made before Nov 18. I haven't taken a close look at it yet so I am not sure if it can be glued. The bulletin is calling for fabric tape, but I'll wait and see.

I had a rubber strip on the left side of hte sun roof come loose and droop. I took it to the sdealer and the service rep took about 20 seconds and fitted it back in place. He told me it looked to him as though it is meant to float in its guide, and to keep an eye on it- it has stayed put since.

same thing happened to me, one of the side rubber/platic type sunroof "wind/moisture deflector" came loose, i just pushed it back into place.

i could see how the tape would work, small amount would allow it to stay in place indefinately.

I just took my car to the dealer this morning to reattach the loose finisher. They just put some type of flexible glue on it and it was done in less than 5 minutes.

I don't think super glue will work as the rubber is begin glued to glass. Good luck.
