maybe nothing wrong that shows up now...

Would you rather know it's done right.. or have them screw something up and then have to deal with it..

It's true... I'd rather want it done right... but still.

Yes they would be at fault. Just like any other place of business that would work on your car. No matter who you take it to, as long as it is a place of business and not your buddy's house, they would be help responsible too.

I just feel like dealerships are able to gain your confidence in no other fact than they are a dealership. I mean how many master techs are actually working? Was it the master tech who worked on your car or his new apprentice of 3 days? Most dealerships only have like 3 master techs and the rest are just guys that the dealership thought was qualifed.

I usually like to see credentials before I let anyone touch my car. Like at the very least are the ASE certifed?

How much did you pay for your car? Don't you want to know that they person working on your car is capable and competant? I am not a rich man so I usually want to do as much as I can on my own. But I definitely do my homework whether it is a DIY job or if I need to find professional help.

Just my 2 cents.

Gonna bring my car in to the dealer for first service soon, and it's my first time ever doing it!

As part of my car deal, I got free oil changes for a year!! Anyone with experience , can I request the dealer use synthetic for no extra charge? Or is it something they'll charge me extra for/ have to bring in myself? Thanks I realize it's a dumb question.

They will charge you for sure. But you should ask for it. It is worth it.

Well, since it's free for a year I could. BUT, I definitely wouldn't want to do it so often when it's not free / when I start doing it myself.
