Did a search and coudn't find anything.

Sometimes when I turn on the car, the Audio System makes a loud crushing noise. It sounds like a ground cable is loose or that something is making some weird contact. It makes the noise even if the system is off.

Anybody has a similar problem? Solutions?

does it sound like basically really loud static hissing and popping?
If so, yeah, I had that problem happen to my car. They reaplced the amplifier first and it didn't fix it, then they replaced the audio unit. The audiounit includes the harddrive, xm radio, everything, so if you have xm radio, and stuff on the musicbox you'll lose it all.

 

Yep, that's it, looks like a trip to the dealer to fix the Audio System.

I have had the same popping occur. Ignition is on with radio on, then start the car. Popping occurs.

 

I'm not talking about popping. I'm talking about a continuous static, hissing and popping noise loud enough to interfere with actual conversation. With the stereo on OR off.

 

I have the same problem...happens when I press the ignition button without stepping on the break to start the display... popping sound occur when I start the car while display is still on, kinda restart...is this normal?? my frined has the same car and he doenst have the same problem.

 

This fixed it once in the past but now nothing is fixing it and it's too loud to even be in the vehicle. Radio wont turn off or down even with fuze pulled.

 

You probably have the Bose sound system. Try disconnecting the amp in the trunk.
