Electrical problem 07 sedan

I went to Al and Eds installed some subs and then the car would not start, At first I thought it was the intelligent key . anyways i towed it to the dealer and today they are running a diagnostic and said it is alot more than the key. im ****ed. al and eds should cover this am i right? Right after they installed the subs and amp they tried to start the car and it would not start, Accessory mode turned on but not the radio or climate or screen. WTF. I guess i willl find out what the damage is tomorrow. FCK

Wow ... sucks. I was going to have my box and amp installed soon; however, I would like to know what went wrong before I do.
What all did the dealer say, other than "it is a lot more"?
Drawing from my experiences, it is extremely hard to stick shops with anything. Usually the dealer says it's because of the install and name some broken parts; and of course, the installer is going to say they have nothing to do with that because they didn't touch (name of part here) Been there done that with the Audi I had.
Just a heads up, if the dealer concludes that the problem arose because of the install, they will most likely not warranty any of the repairs sticking you with the bill & maybe even the towing.
Well, I wish you good luck! Keep us up to date.

If it's the radio and cilmate screen then it's probably a 15A fuse under the hood.

If the car won't start, check the connections on the unified meter. I "accidentally" left mine off the other day while doing something I can't talk about here and the ignition button started acting up... the car started but wouldn't shut off, etc.

So... take the stuff out and check that all the connections are in and that they're in the right place. There are 2 distinct looms with the same connectors going to both the AV unit and the unified meter. If they crossed them, your car will act up.

If it didn't start, don't let the car leave their premises. That way you took it there working, and now its not starting. All liability on them. Because you had it towed should still be good enough if you need to go to small claims. That sucks though! I have heard shady stories from Al and Ed's...

Yeah I agree with that... if I take the car somewhere and it doesn't start after they work on it, we're staying there until they fix it...

I'll call Dominos and sleep on the backseat or something, but I'm not leaving until you fix whatever you broke.

Very interested to hear what the dealer has to say! Keep every piece of paper you have showing everything (just in case you have to take them to small clams)

I hope it's not something to expensive to fix.
