All of you with positive feedback, do you mean that the engagement point is easier to reach? Right now, there is a lot of pedal travel, and that "sweet spot" is very hard to engage because the G's clutch isn't very forgiving. It sounds like with the repair, the sweet spot range is much wider. Is that what you guys are saying?

GoofyG28,
I wouldn't say that the "sweet spot" is larger... just better. Hard to describe. If you believe that your clutch is hard to engage, have the recall work done. You will not be disappointed. Joel

Was able to open it up somewhat yesterday and test the slave cylinder work and 07-45 ECM reflash. Clutch is still on the stiff side, but as some have mentioned, the engagement point seems more forgiving, perhaps a wider sweet spot. Shifts seem silkier, less abrupt but still short and direct.

The throttle is smoother. My 14 year old son, who is a bit of a sports car enthusiast, says the acceleration is smoother, that his head doesn't snap back as much.

No loss of power or responsiveness that I can detect yet.

Nice! Maybe now they'll put the G ahead of the 328i/335i. They complained about the $55 cabin air filter. I just replaced mine myself yesterday, and it cost me only around $30 (shipping included). Can't wait to bring my car in tomorrow for the clutch work!

Also, its interesting that their dealership charged only $139 for the 15K service. Most of the other dealerships seem to charge a whole lot more.

^^+1
which makes me think that these dealerships know all of the Edmunds guys and affords them a better level of service compared to what you and me will get.

Maybe I should call Infiniti of SM and ask them the cost of the service (notice how the blog spells it as Infinity - ouch !)

Alright. I just collected mine.

The clutch feels much better. However, the shifter seems to have some issue - especially when shifting to/from 5/6... Weird. I guess I need to take the car in again for this.

That's good news .....
So is the engagement point any better now ? As in wider or is it still kinda on/off ?
Does it still engage as high as the old one ??

Just trying to understand what has changed when you say it is better (still waiting for my fix -- parts are on order and backlogged - just my luck !)

There is a procedure for re-aligning the shifter after a tranny removal. They may have not done it. The procedure resets the far left and right shifter points. That might be why you are having problems with 5th and 6th.
