2 days in the shop for an oil change a few TSBS?!!?!

I need to rant.
My '07 G35S was brought in yesterday morning at 9am for an oil change and the cruise control and cold idle TSBs.

I called last week to make the appointment. They didn't call me yesterday I had to call at around 5:30 to find out where my car was, they didn't get it into the shop because they were down 1 tech.

Called today to find out where the car is at 4:30, and it's still not done. They didn't get it in.

I can't figure out this service staff. They absolutely suck. How hard is it to stick to an appointment when it's made and get the work done?!?!?!

Brutal service. So you left it there for the 3rd day?

Yup. Today is day #2. Tomorrow will be #3. If they don't get to it tomorrow, I'm picking it up and taking it to the other dealer. I figure, I have a loaner car. My car's already there. I could just pick it up today and take it to the other dealer which will blow one more day anyways, so if they don't do it tomorrow the sh*t will really hit the fan. Even then, I'm going to have some pretty harsh words for the service guys tomorrow when I pick up my car either way, and chances are, I'm going to start taking it to the other dealer starting with my next service.

Yeah, definitely give them a blast of crap if it's still not done. Actually, I would give them a blast of crap even if it is done tomorrow. It's very unacceptable given that you had an appointment. After the second day, I would of taken it to another dealer (if you have the option) just to send them a message. Good luck tomorrow.

yes the service sucks. They took my car in for 10 days for noise from the window, then they said there is not fix for it. That is how the car is suppose to be. Now I am lost.

I'd cut them some slack as long as you have a loaner, if they have to get into the steering column or dash area to work on the cruise, it has to be a specialist, and maybe he's the one who is out. I had my '05 in the shop for almost a week with a tilt motor problem, I didn't complain, I had an almost new loaner!

My problem is that I give them my brand new, fully loaded G35S, and they give me a base G35. Not a fair trade off. I'm paying to drive my car, not their loaner....

You know, I thought that way too. Then I remembered my Dodge Truck where I didn't get a loaner at all. Sure it sucks to get a base model, but it sucks a lot less than getting nothing. Heck I even got an 08 instead of my 07. Would I rather be driving MY 07? Damn skippy. Just saying... be thankful for what you do get.

THAT said, so many people here seem to have the worst dealerships. It's crazy. My Infiniti dealership has been nothing but amazing for me. I take my car in for the ICC TSB, they do it, no questions. I take it in for the clutch recall, they do it, no questions. I take it in for 1st service, get it back 4 hours later.

Even my sales experience was easy. *shrug*

In the stickies at the top of this forum... only applies to 07 6MTs although it's based off of a 350z recall campaign as well, so it might apply to some of those.

good dealerships are hard to find. i used to think that our inifiniti dealership sucked major baluga whales until i started to work for them. it's pretty tough back there i gotta say. but we are not allowed to leave for the day until all the booked appointments are complete. no appointments are a different story. we get to them when there is time. the service your dealership is provideing though is unacceptable and you should take your money elsewhere!

We PAY for that service. This is supposed to be a luxuary car, with all of the perks. Everytime I took My BMW in for service I ALWAYS got a loaner, of course, but it was NEVER a base model. I usually got a 530xi with nav, or an X5 4.8 with nav. I'm not complaining, just saying how if they really want to compete with BMW/MB/Lexus, they better step up to the plate.... So far I am less than impressed with Inifiniti as a company and offended at my lack of customer service at my dealership.

I have 3 BMW dealerships within 1 hour of my home. Everyone of them treated me like a VIP.

Okay sure, we might pay for that service, but my g35 wasn't that much more expensive than my fully loaded, quad-cab RAM 1500. About $3K more. So I suppose I paid for it, but I'm thinking I paid for leather, nav, xm, 4-wheel active steering, sport seats, etc. instead.

Again, though sounds like your dealership just blows so I have to agree with Jason and make sure you fill out that survey when it comes. Heck, I bet if I ask my sales droid he'd give me an M45 loaner. Granted it'd probably be base, but I'd bet I'd get it.

That's why BMW charge you over $200 for an oil change...VIP isn't free!

I guess finding a good dealership is just a matter of luck and yours sucks. I feel for you man. I know what it feels like to be pissed on by the dealer. I don't even want to begin the flaming of the Hyundai dealership I used to go to for my '03 tiburon GT. It was so bad that I am no longer allowed on their property and I was told cops will be called if I do. Yeah, believe me, I know dealers.

They LOVE YOU when you are buying, but don't ask to get something fixed through warranty. Play the game!
