I've had the same noise on both my 05 G35 and now on my 07 G35. Usually happens after driving the car for a while. I work at a large Infiniti dealer and if there was a fix, it would have already been applied to the cars. Unfortunately, I hear it on brand new cars as well so it must be an ubuquitous problem.

I'm used to it now. You can't hear it from inside the car and from the outside it makes it sound like you've got some drivetrain work done. Reminds me of the days of aftermarket clutches and flywheels in high power cars.

Like I said, it doesn't affect me and I stopped caring what people next to me think.

or like light grinding noises (softly then gradually get louder. this is i know is not normal cause it didnt do it before. speeds(1000-3000) as i reach higher i cant hear it then when slowing down with it in gear i could hear it also with clutch pressed or not. do you think its the problems you guys mention? im gonna go down to the dealer this weekend.

Don't mean to bring old news to this thread. But was wondering if anyone has gotten this resolved? My 6mt still does the samething and have been living with it for 1.5 years. Seems like the sound is even harsher now during the cold temperture, and is getting more on my nerves, especially when parked at a stop light at busy intersection, with everyone looking at your car thinking its falling apart.
Addressed it to 2 diffrent dealerships many times, but the harsh Clanking sound never occur when its over there. And just plain tired of the same answer like a broken record player, "It normal on the 6mt".. =(

I scanned in my service receipt in an earlier post on this thread, it might help you out. It was fixed as part of a recall, I think was clutch slave cylinder. I always noticed mine the most while idling with the AC on low.

Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

get used to it, it's not going away. All 6mt do that. Even worse with aftermarket clutches and flywheels.

I wish they would at least come up w/ a fix for this, even if I have to pay for it, I cant even dup the noise, but it seems if I drive it hard and come to a sudden stop ie: Light or drive through that seems to work pretty good, and if I'm parked w/ the noise, shutting off the engine really makes it clank right before it cuts off, still getting it off and on though, sometimes its fine, sometimes its just embarrasing.
