2007/2008 G35 vs G35x 0-60

Hey, not that I race or anything but just curious,

Is the G35 auto faster than the G35x because it's lighter? Or is it slower because it doesn't have AWD? I know the difference might be tenths of seconds but again just wanna know for the hell of it.

Couldn't find anything online...
Edmunds says the G35 Journey (auto) does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds... But couldn't find the 0-60 for the G35x.

Any links? Thanks, please ease my curosity!!!

I don't trust Edmunds for performance numbers, here's a snip from Car and Driver:

In our first test in 2006 of the latest generation of this car, a Sport model with a six-speed manual transmission, the G35 hustled to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and continued on through the quarter-mile in 13.9 seconds at 103 mph.

Our G35x tester, burdened with AWD and a five-speed automatic, blitzed to 60 in 5.4 seconds and the quarter-mile in 14.1 at 100 mph.
So if both cars are auto, it comes down to who has the quicker right foot. The AWD will probably launch better than the RWD, but the latter should be able to catch up and maybe pass by a tenth of a second at 60MPH.

AWD is heavier and has more drivetrain loss, but the G doesn't have enough power to spin all 4 wheels on GOOD pavement.

From most magazines and reviews ive heard the G35s 6MT will go 0-60 in around 5.2 and the G35x around 5.5-5.6, but both figures are probably with a launch.

Suby(our member) has some videos where he beats the sport model with his X. From stand and roll also.

I only have less than 400 miles on the odometer and my G35 imo isn't "that" super quick to do sub 5 0-60times...If I do real world just launch from a stop..I'm guessing I'm around 7 seconds. The traction control keeps cutting things off. Obviously I'm not used to the car..though I do have a g-tech somewhere to measure some figgers later on.

Launching a G35x.... brake torquing?

Keep in mind most magazines quote times with a 1 ft. rollout.

I think because that traction control keeps going on and the car just seems to keep jerking off and on with that yellow light flashing. I'll figger out a way to launch this car better...
