Bad Gas Mileage

You're either leaking gas or it's going out the tail pipe. If you were leaking it, you probably would smell it.
Since you're using about twice as much as you should, sounds like the computer must be sending too much gas through and/or the O2 sensor isn't working right. You can get your tailpipe sniffed to check emissions.
Both are unusual in a new car, though.

I know he's getting super low MPGs, but I think this is something you'd need to take to a stealership. If he's really driving that slow and still getting the 8~9 like he's claiming, here must be something wrong.
To OP, I'd suggest you take your car to Hwy and set your car on cruise control @ 65MPH with MPG meter reset. You should see around 24~26MPG in a few miles of driving.
Good luck.
EDIT: BTW, I get about 13.x MPG avg. Oh well, I'm heavy footed... what can I do.
I average 21 in mostly city driving. The other day, I noticed the pump at the Exxon where I filled-up said "Contains Ethanol." I only got 19mpg on that tank. I'd really like to find someone to thank for stealing 10% of my money.

If you say you stay under 3K rpm and are still getting poor milage, I would at least take it to the dealer take a look at it. BTW, what gas are you using?

BTW, I get about 21 avg city and 26 avg hwy. My hwy speeds are about 80 avg w/ short 90-95 MPH passing bursts.

Went to the dealer and they kept telling me thats how all the cars are. I told them its BS because everyone on the forums gets no less the 17mpg. They did fuel injections test and computer test and said everything is okay. I can't wrap my head around the problem. I know its there.
Did they test to see if your brakes were dragging, or if you were out of alignment?
One more check would be to have someone else drive the car for 100 miles or so to see if maybe it's your driving style. I'm not saying this in a negative way; sometimes I drive my cars really hard and get bad mileage, too.
