That would be between 70-75mph. When I cruise between 75-85mph it is about 25-22mpg.Originally Posted by CDN_Drew
What's your highway cruising speed to get 25-28hwy?

I have reset it countless times expecting the outcome would be different. I love everything about the car except this problem. I filled the tank to full and reset trip A to count the mileage manually. The tank is almost at empty and Trip A is at 120 miles. I thinks thats something worth worrying about.
If you can only drive ~120miles/tank there is definately some wrong with that!Originally Posted by Jackooze

You're either leaking gas or it's going out the tail pipe. If you were leaking it, you probably would smell it.
Since you're using about twice as much as you should, sounds like the computer must be sending too much gas through and/or the O2 sensor isn't working right. You can get your tailpipe sniffed to check emissions.
Both are unusual in a new car, though.

my car has about 540 miles on it...im getting about 16mpg mixed city/highway.
Driving it on the highway I was getting like 24ish (70-80mph)....i should be doing better than that shouldnt i?

It sounds unusual. My tank is just past the quarter mark at 120miles. So definitely take it to the dealer to look at.

Yeah, and this could have been discussed in the original thread, too.Originally Posted by Lemodular

I know he's getting super low MPGs, but I think this is something you'd need to take to a stealership. If he's really driving that slow and still getting the 8~9 like he's claiming, here must be something wrong.
To OP, I'd suggest you take your car to Hwy and set your car on cruise control @ 65MPH with MPG meter reset. You should see around 24~26MPG in a few miles of driving.
Good luck.
EDIT: BTW, I get about 13.x MPG avg. Oh well, I'm heavy footed... what can I do.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I am scheduling an appointment to get my car checked out next week.
I cant believe this is happening to me..... A NEW CAR !!!!

Good luck, let us know how it turns out
BTW, I get about 21 avg city and 26 avg hwy. My hwy speeds are about 80 avg w/ short 90-95 MPH passing bursts.

I average 21 in mostly city driving. The other day, I noticed the pump at the Exxon where I filled-up said "Contains Ethanol." I only got 19mpg on that tank. I'd really like to find someone to thank for stealing 10% of my money.

If you say you stay under 3K rpm and are still getting poor milage, I would at least take it to the dealer take a look at it. BTW, what gas are you using?
Went to the dealer and they kept telling me thats how all the cars are. I told them its BS because everyone on the forums state otherwise.Originally Posted by Lemodular
sounds unusual to me...almost like you're in the wrong gear. I get pretty much 20+ mpg since day one. I can get a touch less (like 18-19) when driven hard. It is true that the milage should improve slightly as the engine wears in but only a couple of mpg's.If you say you stay under 3K rpm and are still getting poor milage, I would at least take it to the dealer take a look at it. Went to the dealer and they kept telling me thats how all the cars are. I told them its BS because everyone on the forums gets no less the 17mpg. They did fuel injections test and computer test and said everything is okay. I can't wrap my head around the problem. I know its there.

Did they test to see if your brakes were dragging, or if you were out of alignment?
One more check would be to have someone else drive the car for 100 miles or so to see if maybe it's your driving style. I'm not saying this in a negative way; sometimes I drive my cars really hard and get bad mileage, too.
