with the HUGE hit you take when you take that car off the lot, it won't be worth it to trade it in for the same car... I bought mine for 39k OTD (journey, prem/nav/sport wheels) and i checked KBB, it's only worth about 26k today, after 1 year.... So yea, keep the car and i guess you can try to do the navi mod with the garmin unit...

Thanks for the replies fellas. My car is a actually an 08 but when I bought it, the price they were trying to give me for a Journey with more packages (prem/nav) was just out of my budget range. I love my car and have considered the garmin and an aftermarket bluetooth (Parrot). It was just a possible consideration IF the deal was good ($4K), but from the sounds of it, it looks like I would be 10K upside down easily because of the Tax/License,etc.

My friend traded in his 03 coupe with 90K and got $18,500 toward his 08 sedan.
It won't be worth $39k, but it won't be worthless either.
That hardtop convertible is in my sights...

yeah, it's not going to be worthless, obviously hybrids in general costs quite a bit more than regular, like altima vs altima hybrid, camry vs camry hybrid, and those hybrids do not make the non hybrids worthless... they still say hybrids won't make it worth it on purely the money you save on the pump for the premium you pay, unless the price of gas doubles... when that happens, forget hybrids, hello bicycle

DO NOT trade for the same car with premium/nav.
You'll lose thousands that way. It'll probably cost you $5k or more to upgrade. (to another USED G35)
Option 2:
Upgrade the car with aftermarket parts. You can set up a NAV system that works through the factory screen for about $400. Upgrading the stereo..... easy. Wheels? You should be able to buy the factory sport wheels from someone who upgraded them.
What else do you want on your car that you don't have?
