? about early lease termination

Hey guys, I am planning on trading in my leased 07 G for 09 Fx35 but I still have 5 payments left on my G. I heard that Infiniti offered to pay the last few payments of your lease if you lease with them again, so can someone confirm please?

Also, would $602+tax at 15k miles per year for 36 months a good deal on a 48.5K MSRP FX with the 4k loyalty rebate and 3.5 k down?

Thanks.

In regard to early lease termination:
As a rule Infiniti does not pay remaining payments for you. I tried to negotiate an early buyout of my M lease (with 2 months remaining) and they said no. They also did not accept any reduced buyout number. That was end of August. I thought they might b/c of the leasing issues that hit the car companies earlier that month. I ended up leasing a G (and I'm very happy with that decision!).

About 2 weeks after I got the G I saw some posts popping up that Infiniti was offering $5500 buyout discounts on my car (and about $10k on the M45's!!). I might have taken that option had they offered it to me.

Now that the market has changed you might be able to negotiate that. However, what you should be VERY careful about is to make sure that they don't roll your remaining lease payments into your new lease. This would be a VERY bad idea. The only way you would know this is by negotiating the lease using the basic ideas - get the purchase price negotiated first, make sure the money factor, terms and mileage all match the Infiniti Financial Services terms and that you get the payment without putting a single penny into the deal.

Then you can add in whatever cap cost reduction you want or pay for title, tax, tags out of pocket, etc. Also, be careful b/c IFS is still offering the $500 lease loyalty(I believe) and a lot of dealers automatically throw this into cap cost reduction but you may wish to use it toward tax, tags, etc. Not a big difference but if those items add up to around $500 you can go no out of pocket.

So in answer to your question about the FX lease - see the above comment. You can find the lease rates, money factors, mileage, etc a few places on the internet. Again, negoitiate the purchase price first. Typically the incentives they give to the dealers should come AFTER you negotiate price. In other words, you should be able to get invoice or maybe even less in this current market on an SUV. THEN you should apply the discounts.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Jay

you can, theoretically, do NOTHING out of pocket, and roll everything into your payments, including your 1st payment.

Because you can does not make this a very bright idea Mike. This is exactly how lenders and borrowers combined stupidity with greed to produce the liquidity crisis the entire world economy is now trying to cope with. Zero down on a 5 year ARM for real estate, or upside down on a car because you're rolling debt from a previous transaction, it's all the same. People living beyond their means and mortgaging their tomorrows for material things today. I realize you weren't endorsing it but geez, don't give em any ideas.

I'm guessing most people leasing are not looking for a tax play but trying to drive a car they couldn't otherwise afford. To roll one lease's unfullfilled obligation into the next car you shouldn't be driving is just stupid. I would have expected lenders to have tightened standards of late. Apparently, greed and stupidity are doing just fine.

I guess I should mention, then, that the above scenerio will not fly with negative equity rolled in, and you better have some EXCELLENT credit... your average 'I have tier 1 credit' customer will not qualify for this and the bank will turn the deal down so fast that the red X will be waiting there before we even click submit.

I would wait 5 months, besides you may even get a better deal considering the way auto sales are!

5 months isnt too bad, gives plenty of time to think and save up more for an fx50 maybe .. that thing is insane O_O and have more time to beat the **** out of your current without any concerns. i've always wanted to go reckless with my g, but never could live up to it. a loaner / lease ending g must be so fun to have =[

In Canada, there is a site called LeaseBusters where one can advertise their car to transfer the lease. It's quite popular up this way, for those that lived beyond their means and for those looking to perhaps purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease. Not sure if there is anything like this stateside.
