I'd trust the k&n above most others. In the Subaru world we had similar problems with intakes that would lose power or cause detonation and the reason was an improper design with not including fluid dynamics which caused turbulance within the intake and inaccurate MAF readings. Some intakes weren't even properly sized for the MAF to intentionally read less airflow and lean out the mixture, causing detonation. Then K&N came out and it was one of the first and only ones to show consistent AFR's that were not dangerously lean and it actuall made a bit of power.
I think K&N actually does some quality R&D.

I just posted a review in the tech forum and confirmed with K&N that they fit and have acceptable a/f ratios for the 2008's as well.

Really what G35 did they test that only made 225whp?? I saw a thread on these a week or so ago on here. I don't know if he got them or not??

The 225 isn't peak horsepower, its peak gain vs. stock.Originally Posted by ANMVQ

Yup. Peak with K&N looks like a hair under 250 whp on this particular car. The gap narrows significantly around 6700 rpms and since they cut it off after that, the stock may actually have more power to redline. However a ~8 hp increase throughout the powerband below 6700 would make for a faster feel in daily driving. in terms of peak power and 1/4 mile, the intake's gains are probably negligible.Originally Posted by LOW2000

I think Stock Intake has been the Best intake so far.from many G35er user even with CAI too risky!!
the CAI is not risky at all
u risk it a cuz it doesnt close off the intakes as well as the journey bumper.
but u can always cover them and dont have to worry about anythin lol
