Car going in to the dealer again for Recall issue

Had the slave cylinder issue supposedly fixed back in May. Same thing seems to be happening. Just watched car go away on the back of the flat bed.

Recall - fine.
Can't fix it the first time? Ridiculous.

When you pick it up check the car carefully. I had mine picked up by flat bed when they wanted to tow it (2008 XS) for a starting issue. When I went to pick it up both front mud guards were damaged apparently from the tow tie downs. Very noticeable and I jump on them for not paying attention to the car when it was unloaded.

When I called the dealer, I told them they need to come pick up the car because it's doing the exact same thing it did the first time (clutch only coming up 1/4 of the way and then needs to be popped back up but first 3/4 of clutch play does nothing). He gave me the infiniti roadside assistance number. They indicated that it would not be my responsibility (to pay).

I'll check the car when I see it again...

This is the fourth trip to the shop for this car. Two comp claims and two clutch issues. I've owned it since late April.

I was talking to a tow truck driver today at my shop. He was admiring my car but said they are a BITCH to tow without damaging anything!

okay...got a vm from the dealer saying there's nothing wrong with the car.

Really? The clutch is supposed to only work for three inches and then pop the rest of the way up? It didn't do that on the drive into work or the day before...or the day before...or after they fixed it the last time???

I'm so annoyed.

Did they change the clutch fluid, a known issue with some years?

Possibly two separate issues have been reported. One is contaminates which requires a complete flush. The second is clutch fluid may actually be boiling. The second is something that may actually be the source of what looks like contaminates in some cases.

Either way many seem to have basically cured their issues with replacement of fluid with a quality high temperature fluid.

You may also want to check for leaks on the cylinders.

Got it back today. The bled the hydraulic lines and it seems to be working now, but from the time they got the car, they said they couldn't duplicate the problem.

Hopefully, I can't either.

The only thing I am wondering is if they replaced the fluid or simply bled it. And if they replaced if they used a higher temp fluid. Otherwise I would guess the issue may well come back.

His theory was that an air bubble got in the lines and just needed to work itself out, but he could never duplicate the problem, so he just put it on file and we'll hope it doesn't happen again.

You sure it's a recall? I don't remember we had an recall on our cars for the slave cylinder... though I do remember that we had a TSB for it?

Oh, maybe technically (no pun intended) it was a TSB, but when they informed me about it, they used the term recall. Either way, they fixed it once under warranty and now have looked at it again. So, it's on record twice with them. That was the most important thing at the very least....to get the fact that I've gone to them on record...in case it happens again somewhere down the line.
