Thumbs down hard water left spots on car and its not coming off :(

I parked my car overnight at a friends apartment on the street and unbeknown to me, the sprinklers hit the car late into the morning. I come out in the evening and to my dismay, the sun already dried the water and there were white spots indicating that it was hard water/calcium? I took it home and washed the car and scrubbed and what I am left with is little rings all around of where the water dried. The chrome is the worst as it shows the rings badly

how do I get this stuff off? it's horrible

You could try a clay bar and a light polish.

Clay-bar. DIY, it's easy and it will take it all off as well as other contaminants you have on the finish.
You don't necessarily have to polish it afterwards but you definitely will want to apply a sealant or wax to protect the clear-coat. The clay bar removes everything and will leave your clear-coat unprotected.
Also, goto the 'ask a professional detailer' thread. Lots of Q&A there that will help you out.

i had the same problem. but even with a clay bar it wouldnt come off. my friend owns a detail shop so he did it for me. he used a special chrome rim cleaner. which is basically an acid and it came out looking AWESOME. dont try it yourself though. there are a lot of precautions you have to take when doing it that way and if you do it wrong you will completely **** the paint up.

Zaino Clay Bar...

I had this same problem. Tried both Mothers and Meguiars with poor results...almost gave up hope. Zaino's clay bar...it will work. I thought all clay bars were the same...until I tried this.
