Exclamation Please advise me - Warranty repairs

Hi,

I have read thru the forms for most of the items below, but wanted to get some insight from all the experienced folks out there for my specific situation. Any helpful recommendation is greatly appreciated..

Bought my 2007 G35x 2 mths back with almost 13k miles on it from a non-infiniti dealer. Got the 15k miles service done 2 weeks ago at an Infiniti dealer and paid about $400 (service + "fuel injection clean-up").

I believe the 4 yr manufacturer warranty expires in June-July of this year. So I wanted to take care of a few items on warranty.

- Door gasket/trim seems to be pealing off. Noticing road noise and the gasket actually moves around. I also seem to hear some road noise from the sun roof..
- Black paint is pealing off the steering wheel trim
- I am noticing some crackling or static type of sound when I connect my phone or ipod thru the aux connection (RCA aux)
- Sometimes, the turn signal does not seem to reset after the turn
- After a cold start (in the morning), the car seems to jerk when shifting from 1st to 2nd. After the engine warms up, I don't notice this. I also don;t notice this if I idle warm the car for about 10 mins before driving.

I am hoping to get all the above fixed under warranty, and want to see if you can suggest a good "game plan" for me before I approach my local dealer (I did not buy the car from him).

Another thing, I am planning to but the 7yr/100k extended warranty from Infiniti Elite (or something like that) for about $1900. The car has 16k miles now, and I heard that rates will be lower till 20k and then go up. Any recommendation on buying the extended warranty from Infiniti?

EDIT: Add "foggy" headlights to the list. Sometimes I notice that the headlights fog up a little bit. Anybody seen this issue?

Regards
Nick

If you live in United States the steering wheel issue will be covered. In Canada they will not do it. The other issues I don't think you will have an issue with the dealer having a look at them. See if anyone in your area can recommend a dealer which is well rated as some are easier to deal with than others

Since you have less than 20K miles you should be able to get ahold of a pre-owned EIPP that takes you out 84 months / 100K miles.

What does EIPP stand for and where would I get it from? Any good suggestions for the NJ-PA-DE tri-state area?

You are not guaranteed to be covered if your steering wheel paint is peeling even if you're in the US, it depends on the dealer really, many failed attempts have been made as well. Hopefully someone from your area can chime in and tell you if there is a warranty friendly dealer in your area.

Nick,

Asper my knowledge, If they loose or coming out off the frame they may cover but not cuts/damages. mine is not replaced they cut.

- Black paint is pealing off the steering wheel trim
steering wheel is defective for 07,if you can post the pics i can tell you clearly. mine is replaced

- I am noticing some crackling or static type of sound when I connect my phone or ipod thru the aux connection (RCA aux) - dont know

- Sometimes, the turn signal does not seem to reset after the turn - dont know
- After a cold start (in the morning), the car seems to jerk when shifting from 1st to 2nd. After the engine warms up, I don't notice this. I also don;t notice this if I idle warm the car for about 10 mins before driving.

i do see when I start the car inthe morning though it is garage but I do start the car for 10 mins(MDX as well) every day.

To buy an extended warranty, do you have to be in the bumper to bumper warranty?

Actually I stated it wrong.

It should be IEEPP.

Infiniti Elite Extended Protection Plan

http://www.infinitiusa.com/ownership/warranty-epp.html

You will probably find cheapest online here:

http://www.eliteprotectionplan.com/

You will need to get an inspection from an actual Infiniti dealer though. I guess Infiniti instituted this as of 12.1.2010. Cost seems to run about $120-$180.

No you don't but cost begins to rise quite a bit.

Here are some of the plan options.
