NavTraffic price dropping to $3.99/month
I have only ever had NavTraffic by itself without XM.
I got the following this morning:
"We are writing with good news that will impact your XM NavTraffic subscription rate.
Effective in March, 2011, SiriusXM is reducing the price of XM NavTraffic service from $9.95 per month to just $3.99 per month.
The rate you pay for your XM NavTraffic service will automatically decrease to $3.99 per month, beginning with your next billing cycle. There's no action required on your part to receive the reduced rate — you will receive it automatically.
Please note that the XM NavTraffic service itself is not changing — just the subscription rates.
If you have any questions about your account or wish to view your subscription details, just visit our new Online Account Center at www.care.siriusxm.com, at your convenience, 24/7.
Thank you for being a valued SiriusXM subscriber."

huh..XM NavTraffic does not come free with G35? I thought XM NavTraffic is free.
I just bought CPO 07 G35, and I do wonder why I still have XM radio after almost 2 months?

the last i checked nav traffic was an option you could only get on top of the XM service. you couldnt buy it separately. guessing this is not the case?

you can get it separately i used to have it a long time back for a couple of months with no XM radio, they tried telling me i would need to get the radio to get the traffic and i said no thank you then i dont want either and they quickly gave me only traffic like they are supposed to.

Yeah - you can get it traffic seperate, but it was $10 alone, or $16 w/ XM (So it was kind of a no-brainer if you ask me)
Now that it's affordable, I'll be calling them tomorrow I think. That's the main thing I miss about my Garmin, is the traffic. I drive A LOT for work, so this is an enormous help for me to redirect routes automagically

I just spent 45 minutes on the phone, and talked to 2 different reps. First one told me my '07 G35x doesn't support traffic. She transferred me. The 2nd rep said that it does support traffic, but not ONLY traffic. She said I have to have an XM music account to add traffic.
Did I get 2 reps that have no clue? Or am I missing something? They said the 3.99 price was because "my friend" also has XM music, the traffic is more than that price if alone (which supposedly isn't possible, so I don't know why they keep bringing it up)

Dang. Looks like no XM or Traffic for me then. With the musicbox, I can't justify spending the money.... not yet anyways.
You really like the XM traffic? I absolutely loved my Garmin free traffic. It would do auto reroutes, and it would direct me based on traffic. I used my GPS for everyday travels - even to the office and back. It generally picked the best of 3 main routes depending on traffic. Only let me down a couple times, but saved me many more.
Could I expect the same results you think? If so, that would definately be worth the money to me. Although it sucks that my $120 Garmin does it for free.
