Are standard seats softer than sport seats?

I'm sure you are all following my riveting posts:

I'm curious about regular seats vs sport seats. I know the sport seats have the bolsters....but....are the regular seats softer? Anybody got access to both cars that can compare and report back?

I have been driving a bunch of loaner vehicles lately and have tried out, 2011 G37, 2010 g37 and 2011 g25. All had non sport seats and were very comfortable and did not bother me for driving all day around town. I noticed they hold you much better than 1st gen sedans and hug you pretty well. My buddy test drove one and he has a coupe and really liked the seats since they were little bit more comfortable than his coupe seats but still hold you really well. I do not have sport seats but these did not bug me one bit and would really like to find a way to throw them into the 1st gen when the price is right...wonder if dealer will notice i swapped them out

The seats in the sport were the only reason our 2 Gs have been Journeys. I don't mind the sport seats but my wife could not find any settings that would give her comfort in the same area you describe. The regular journey seats are great on long drives and no aches or pains after our 770 mile (each way)trips to Vegas. She spends more time in the car so we couldn't go w/ the "S".
I don't drive the car overly agressive very often so really don't need the grippier seats so it's all good

Are they interchangeable? Can you swap std seats with sport seats?

for me (6'1'') the sport seats are a MUST. every time i get a loaner from the dealership (journey package) the seats aren't half as adjustable to my liking... sport seats have at least 3 more ways of adjustability than journey seats (thigh extenders, bolsters, and side bolsters)

personal preference i guess.
and yes they are "interchangeable" but damn expensive if you really want to do it that way...

When you get a loaner do the seats seem softer?

Where is the best place to find some used journey seats? Any good junkyard links?

Sport seats are one of the reasons I wanted the S...I have driven some loaners recently and hate the regular seats...they don't feel supportive at all.

Our sport seats are not as good as the ones in my old BMW but they are far better than the regular seats in my opinion....

The only thing better about the journey seat is that they can drop a good 1" lower than the sport seats, making for a lot more headroom.
