Whats missing from under my hood?

Hi All

So as time goes by, I have had time going over my recent purchase with a fine tooth comb and I found something else

I found this lonely plug not connected to anything behind the drivers headlight. Also there is a silver sort of Mount that looks OEM near it (included in the red circle)

Wanted to know if this is just a spare that everyone has, or if something is missing??

I have an 07 Premium Navi Tech Package with ICC, if it helps with identifying.

As far as I can see, I can't figure out where it goes as I dont see anywhere that it can plug into and everything on the car seems to work just fine.

Thanks as always !!

Hmmm..

Nope like I said everything in my car works fine. No error lights.

Only odd thing in my car is that the previous owner apparently installed a hidden radar detector system in my car. Thread: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...ing-wheel.html

Wonder if whatever the black box was somehow conflicted with the system and they needed to remove it?

You are the man!!!! Thanks!

No as far as I can tell I dont have an aftermarket alarm. When I lock my doors, my horn honks. Didn't know i had the option of a beep instead of a honk?! Does your beep when you lock the doors?

Locking the door will cause the horn to honk but not the "beep" that he's talking about, the "beep" is a sound made from the electrical box and it happens when your car is started and you have the key fob in your pocket and you walk away from the vehicle while its still running. It also "beeps" when you unlock or lock the door with the tiny button on the door while the key fob is in your pocket.

Awesome info once again guys, you helped me solve my "mystery"

I have no beeping sound when using the handle buttons to lock/unlock or when I walk away from my car while its running.

Im going to see if I can find the part number and order one.

You guys rock! Its people like you why this forum is great! Cheers

Wow its hard trying to find this part. Checked all the online infiniti parts sites and they have nothing listed for the 07 G35 Sedan. The closest I got was finding one for the 2011 M37. Wonder if they are all the same part?

Yup I just might do that.

Now that I've been thinking of reasons why the previous owner might have removed it, it's possible that he liked to start the car and leave it running with the doors locked without the beeping going off while he was away from the car?

Now that I think of it, maybe I don't want to re-install it lol. I do this often especially in the mornings.
