Considering a 07 G35 S. What to check and watch out for?

I'm considering getting a 07 G35 S and am wondering what do I need to check and watch out for?

One I found near where I live in Oakville, Ontario, private sale, has 107K km (66K miles), second owner. Recently did brake job (not sure if he replaced pads and rotors), exhaust. New tires. Asking for $17.5K. It has the premium package. No Nav.

Car is original, no accidents. I checked CarFax already.

From reading other threads, commonsense things to check are to have a mechanic check engine compression?

Anything else specific to this car I need to check? Thanks in advance!

Nothing specifically mechanical/electrical or otherwise that I need to check?

Relatively new car with not a lot of miles. I don't think there are any real problematic issues with a 2007. The only thing I would be leery about is a 2nd owner now trying to sell the car.

Check to see if there is peeling around the steering wheel...not a big problem but can be annoying to look at.

I asked him that question as he's only had the car for a year and his reply was that he got a company car and now it's just sitting in his driveway.

Besides asking for any and all receipts on parts and maintenance performed, the best that you can do is take it to a reputable bodyshop and ask for an inspection to uncover ANY bodywork performed, then have a reputable shop/mechanic who's familiar with the G35 to evaluate it mechanically. Also, any Infiniti dealerships can pull up all prior maintenance records for the car that were performed by one of their dealerships. Some require prior owners approval, other don't really care. You can also run a title search (ie. Carfax et al ), but DO NOT take their lack of negative findings as being conclusive in the least. Competent inspections are your best bet for that.

ask for maintenance records, check for peeling on door jams and steering wheel. peeling of the console pod, etc. if its at 66k he should have just recently done the 60k service

Thanks for all the input guys. My wife is now reconsidering getting a car and would much rather prefer an SUV - perhaps the FX35 or RX350? The RX is soooo boring to look at and drive. I'll start checking out some FX's now.

ahh break judder..yes. Mine didn't have that. Check for that. You will know right away if you have it.

Also check at around 38-40MPH range for a trans shutter. Some do it worse than others. But most G's out there with the 5AT do this
