Hey guys. This is my first post here. I used to be a member of myg37 when I had my 09 coupe sport. Sadly I had to sell it and now for the past few months I have been working on my newly aquired 08 xs.
Big thanks to those of you who provided input on the akebono upgrade, it was my first upgrade i did for this car and working in the parts industry I was able to swap out the old rusty system easily and inexpensively. Don't pay any attention to the horrible caliper paint job, that's going to change soon.
Sadly I had to put 20mm spacers to clear the calipers. I probably went too thick but the set-up doesn't look too staggered. The stock 18's might clear without spacers but I will definitely need to relocate the wheel weights as they rub on the caliper, that's why I have these ones on as shown in the picture.
My question is what stock wheels fit without spacers with the brake swap? I'm going to need new tires this spring anyway, if I just go with a rim and tire package, do I need a specific offset to clear the calipers? I assume just find wheels that will fit an 09 sport??? From what I found, the stock offset is +45.
Thanks.

Reason: Fact correction
09 sport wheels would be a good option. For aftermarket wheels, spoke design matters more than offset. Any reputable wheel vendor should be able to verify the wheel you want will be able to clear big brakes
Decided to keep these extra 18"s that came with the car. I took off the spacers and have about 1/2 inch clearance between the caliper and wheel weights. In the meantime, I put the oem full-size wheel in the trunk in case I get a flat. I know the stock wheels will clear in the back but not the front. Just until I can find a 18" sport spare.
Are you going to tell us about that caliper color change?
Sure! The blue was done in a rush and in too cold conditions. I went with a tried and true combination I used on my g37. Secret ingredient: patients. I had to remove the blue with brake cleaner and paint thinner.
Ok, so that's the VHT Gold Flake. I wasn't sure from the picture. I keep hoping an exact match for the Brembo gold will appear one day. Looks good though!
