Error code P1078

After my check engine light came on, I used a scan tool to look for issues. I got the error code P1078. After researching it online, I found a lot of forum answers for the V35 cars. The solution being to change the sensor for the exhaust cam on the passenger side bank. But I was unable to find any solution related to V36 cars. Is this the same issue as for V35 cars, and if so, what is the part number for the sensor that needs to be replaced to fix this issue?

It's the same codes on the HR engine. You have different part numbers for the sensors though.

So, I just have to replace my Exhaust Valve Timing Control Position Sensor on bank 1? Would you happen to know the location of the sensor and part number by any chance?

On the HR engine they're at the rear of the valve cover behind the final spark plug coil pack. Each is held down with a single bolt, torque to 62 INCH lbs, basically it's snug then a tiny bit more.

Only use Denso or OEM Genuine Nissan parts. Denso was the OEM manufacturer for that part, any other aftermarket sensors are probably not going to work correctly. (Hitachi made the DE engine sensors, Denso made the HR engine sensors)

Nissan 23731-JA11B

Denso 1964001

To verify the cam sensor is actually the culprit you could always swap the bank1 exhaust sensor with another one. The code should change to that other position. Just make sure to identify the bad one with a sharpie or something so you don't get it mixed up with the others. The HR engine used the same sensor for all 4 positions.
