Transmission swap

So I swapped my transmission, ended up breaking the crankshaft sensor from pulling on the wiring harness, so I replaced the sensor with a OEM sensor, now the car won’t read the sensor. And transmission which was rebuilt and tested is shifting hard on second gear and slow on fourth gear. Anybody know any times and also when you swap a transmission, do you need to take it to the dealership to get reprogrammed?? The dealership says that you have to but idk what do yall think??

I would start there.

As for the tranny shifting issues, it needs to adopt and break in, no? These cars have adaptive TCMs BUT, if a sensor like the crankshaft position sensor is not being read, then it could affect the TCM..
