It's kind of amazing how much lower to the ground it is than the current sedan. There is like 1.5" less wheel gap easy.
If they got Regis to showcase the car it appears to me, Infiniti is trying to appeal to an older crowd. The styling is a good hint. They certainly lost me (35 yrs). The more I look at this car the more I like my current '05. In the end the final judgement will be in the numbers, so we have to wait and see. But I suspect it won't do as well and the 1st gen.

I think what disappointed most people was they saw the coupe concept pictures and imagined the same aggressive design for the sedan.

Infiniti should of waited until after they released the sedan to show the coupe concept, that way peoples expectations for the sedan wouldnt of been so high....

Personaly I like the sedan a lot, and thinking about trading in my 2003.5 for it. Wonder if my 19" OZ's rims would fit on the new car

But after seeing the direction Infiniti is going in put down a deposit and I ordered myself a BMW 330i yesterday afternoon.
Did you check out all the pictures though??
The pics from Nissannews.com isn't that great, but some other magazines like autoweek and caranddriver took pretty good pics at the autoshow...
Not to screw up your day here, but maybe you should take a look at those pics and maybe the car in real life as well....
I personally love how the 330i drives too... but just a suggestion...

Interior improvements are definitely there, leeps and bounds.

But the exterior is kind of bleh, the front is ok...but the lines seem kind of weird. And the rear looks like a friggin Avalon.

Maybe I need to see it in person to get a better appreciation of it, or maybe I'm just spoiled by the coupe concept pics?

Anyone else feel this way?
If I didn't have the M and I was in the market for an Infiniti, that would be the one.
It's stunning and I love it.

C.

I'm impressed but I'd like to see one in person. I haven't seen a IS350 in person yet but I'm almost certain I'd prefer the G35. Would be nice to see them side by side though. In any case, I'll probably wait a couple years before getting another car. I've only had my 03 for 6 months.

Well, granted I'm talking about my '05, but I've been parked next to a couple of IS's in recent months, and I still like my G35 much better, makes me glad I own it!

Extra Horsepower is good, but I think its fugly. I like my 05 G better. Oh well.

It should of taken more of the new GTR characteristics if you ask me. Expecially for the price.

So the question is:

What will the new M35 and the M45 look like in the future since the G looks like that now?

Especially for WHAT price???
Prices are predicted to change minimally and it's the best bang for the buck in it's segment.
Maybe I'm misinterpreting, but you make it sound as if it's priced like a Bimmer....

Although i'm not a previous owner on an Infinity, I felt I could give my feed back. I am however young, 21, and also use to own a 2001 325ci coupe, red leather interior....silver.....man i loved that car!

I see a lot of comparison amongst the old vs the new. And Before seeing the pics of the new, I did like the old. But after seeing the new for most of the last week, and looking back upon the old, it's is NOTHING compared to the new.

I feel both exterior and interior are WAY better on the new. I loved the M, and this new G has more of the family resemblence now.

As far as comparison to the 3
FRONT - Tie for me, i like the more aggressive look however of the G, but then always loved the grill and HL of bmw.
REAR - Infiniti, hands down. The rear on the 3 is as-s
INTERIOR - 3, hands down. The quality of the 3 is hard to match.

NOT to mention, price/value of the G is way higher then that of the 3. Infiniti does take out a lot however, to make it as cheap as it is.

I will be purchasing the NEW G as asson as i can place an order.

My estimate of a fully loaded g35 Sport, w/Sunroof - $37g

To get the same in a 3, EASILY over $43g

I think fully loaded, with the Automatic Cruise Control and Additional Features it will be over $40k Easily

It is $38k Just now for the fully loaded Version on Infiniti.com, and the new car is gonna go up $2k-$3k + All Types of Other Gadgets and Junk you can get installed

yeah I agree. That was a major deciding factor when I bought my G. But it is an INFINITI / NISSAN and not a BMW. At this point as much as we can all argue that Infiniti is a good buy for your money, the BMW quality is far superior inside and out. Now that I've seen the new generation, it's a no brainer for me to go back to BMW. I just can't stand it! maybe I'm just infatuated with the upcoming M3 that anything else seems too inferior.

The leading edge of the hood looks too much like a '98 Taurus. Maybe they could have blended in the edges of the hood better with the other curves, like on the current G35, just so it's not so obvious. And I saw a new Avalon today, and it has the same rear bumper ledge going into the trunk.
