My impressions on the G37!

Did I just say that??

LOL - good thing they dont see what we do in our free time. I did not know mine @ 22, but she still looks it! Too bad she does not still act like she was in her 20's! Can we extend our warranties with our wives too? This model does not move as fast, or does not handel as well as they said....
The car for me is all about how she will do in the test drive, she may look great on the turntable, but i cant wait to test it side by side with other new models and finally put something new in the garage.

On the flipside some who have seen it in person didnt like it. If you don't like the new G.. that's cool. If you havent seen it in person (and you really want to like it) then check it out at the dealership around august. You just might be surprised at how well it looks in the flesh.
Now as far as your other statement I dissagree. No one is going to fault you for not liking the car.. well.. let me take that back.. there are those who'll say anything just to get attention. You "will" get feedback if you start making assumptions or comparisons that others dont agree with.... (i.e new g37 looks like a civic or it should be an SUV considering how high it is or 0-60 times should be in the 4 second timeframe or it looks nothing like the concept etc..).
Your opinion counts.. but you better be ready to back up what you say. This is by far the most aggresive car forum i've been involved with. That's good and bad. Good because you'll usually find the latest news here along with enthusiastic members.. bad because you'll have to wade through way too many posts full of crap.IMO

There is nothing on the market today (in this price range and even +5K) that would make me switch to another manufacturer. I am only 31 and I owned/own 3 Infiniti's. Plus my nickname "Ginxed" should say it all, it's from the word jinxed. Before I bought my G I thought somebody jinxed me because I couldn't think about anything else

that turns into "$options and add-ons$" on the very few other makes that appeal to me.I have looked at BMWs, having owned one in the past (328is). A bare-bones 3-series just won't make it, and by the time you get your new Bimmer equipped the way you want it, the $$$$ kill the deal. Just like Porsche, BMW nickels-and-dimes you to death with costs for options and accessories. Trouble is, "their" nickels and dimes turn into $500 and $1,000 BILLS!!
I love Manufacturers that have respectable options and packages like Infiniti, Acura, etc. so the buying process is nice and simple. I did a build-it with the new BMW 335i Coupe and hit nearly $49K for the same thing I'm hoping to buy for $40K with the new G37. Finding the right "optioned" BMW, Porsche or Mercedes on the lot or nearby is always a crapshoot, whereas finding the right "optioned" Infiniti has got to be a lot easier. Anyway, I'm taking the first G37 Sport with Premium(in black) that's headed to my dealer. That shouldn't be too hard. I'll even put up with the chrome bling on the rear deck.
ChiTown - you're very right. So many individual options, you really need to order if you're picky with BMW. Otherwise you'll make sacrifices in some options or the color. It's rare to find the perfect G (options and colors), but a lot easier with fewer sacrifices. Either way, my G is being ordered.
But yes, my built 335i was about $48K also. I think the 335i is nicer when loaded up (also has smart key, Nav, parktronic,), faster, better looking, etc... But it's not worth the $6-7K it demands. The IS350 is my other alternative - plain looking, but lovely interior and great features combined with decent performance.
It is 35xx lbs, 306hp, 277tq... And does 0-60 in 5.3 and 1/4 in mid 13s.
The G37 HAS to reach that... Jeeze.

I am leaning towards the G37 myself, but if you have not decided yet- dont count out ED, on a 335i coupe its almost $3k in savings, and if you wait a year after signing up for the BMWSCCA club, you get a grand off any new bimmer you buy due to that $35 membership alone (last i checked it was 35).
Plan it right, you get a nice trip across the pond, 4K off a new coupe, and time to drive the fastest legal road in the world.

I was going to do E. D. actually. But even then... it's not so much $3K savings as it is a free trip to Europe.
What you say is very true for buyers.. But as a leaser, those deductions just reduce the capital cost a little without a big impact on lease terms.
We don't know the G money factors or MSRP yet either, but it should be pretty strong. If it's higher than I think it's wroth - - - IS350 or 335i.

AutoWeeks opinion...........
AutoWeek makes the new G37 sound like it's the best thing on the planet.
They also mentioned it's 150 lbs heaver than the G35.....that's like having
a permanent passanger riding shotgun....Ouch! No mention of the frontend
being ugly or the chrome thing on the rear spoiler being useless. That's ok,
in the same issue they spent three pages saying how great the latest GTO
was.......it all boils down to taste and how close you look at what you're
going to purchase/buy!

My impressions on the G37!
Hi guys,
I did a search yesterday on google for "hate g37" and a ton of links popped up (not uncommon). I started to check those links and found quite a few comments...
is it possible we are more then just a small percentage that dont like the body style of the new g37, or are we sheltered on g35driver.com and others out there dont care for it either ?
ppp
