Getting my Compression rods done. Good Price?
Getting my Compression rods done. Good Price?
So I'm getting my compression rods done on both sides, i was quoted 658.00 installed, and another 130(or something close, I don't remember exactly what he said) for an alignment. It's 170 for each rod, and it comes with a 1 year warranty. If i get it installed by them its a 2 year warranty. Good price or not so good?
(Woooops, wrong Section, but still relevant.)

This is what everyone tells me, I got one pushed in, the noise was reduced for a little, and its back as strong as ever. I wasted 120 bucks for nothing
Frankly, that's highway robbery anyway!
If it's on a G35, then you should just buy a set of Energy Suspension bushings. New factory rods are going to have the same bushings in them that have already worn out twice for you.
I know where you can get the ES bushings cheap...

you pay more labor to do just the bushings, but less in parts. All in all its cheaper to do just the bushings but they can loosen back up over time, esp if the tech didnt do the job properly..
If you don't have any Infiniti extended Elite warranty I would just go with White Line bushings. They would last longer than the O.E. ones but you would have to get the car realligned after they are installed regardless of O.E. or aftermarket. $600 is way high...I was guessing more like $350 or so.
White Line makes hard or soft ones. I went with soft they are slightly harder than OEM but I didnt notice any change in ride quality
If you talk to White Line they are in the UK if I recall correctly they wont have a clue what Compression rod bushings are, radius rod bushings is what they will call them

Actually, the new bushings are the revised version. Originally both the 'revised' rods and bushings were included in the TBA.
