What if it's stolen???
What if it's stolen???
Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum, but I've been lurking for a couple months. I've had my heart set on getting a G35 for about a year now. I recently found one for a really good price.
I checked out the car and everything seemed cool, but when I told my wife about it she questioned whether the car had been stolen. She said she saw some tv special about thieves who switch the VIN numbers on cars.
I got the VIN off the door and windshield and it checked out fine on Carfax. However, I thought I would do a little more poking around when I go check it out again next weekend. I usually wouldn't be suspicious, but the price is so cheap that I can't help but wonder....
So, my question is. Where are the other VIN locations on the 2005 G35 Coupe? What should I do if it turns out to be stolen?
Thanks in advance!!!!

I'm in D.C.
So the answer to your question is yes

That's pretty easy then. I'll check the trunk and fenders I had alwasy thought that there should be VIN's in the engine or trans to keep people from being able to steal cars. If anyone knows of more, just let me know and I'll check them too.
Thanks!!
its there on the '05 as well

let me cancel the internet because my wife just watched "to catch a predator" on TV. LOL
dont worry about it brother...just make sure the seller (if not a dealership) has the title and the window vin matches the title. It's not that easy to switch the vins on the car

I'd be more concerned about the car having been totaled out before... not sure if you can always see that or not on Carfax
They could have fixed everything to make it look and drive like new, but if the car has a red flag, then you won't be able to fully insure it... at least that's the case where I am.
