Car WONT heat up unless moving?

whats up guys. well i live in south carolina so it doesn't get too cold down here and at least not for long. but lately ive had the oppurtunity to notice that while parked or while just sitting in a spot the heat will stop blowing warm and actually blow cold air but then as soon as i start moving again it heats back up. anybody else had this problem or is it just how this car works. its a 04 5at by the way and only has 29k on it so i wouldn't think it would be a problem. just really cold lol

sounds like you have an air pocket in your coolant system. there are a few DIYs on here for how to get rid of the air.

Try checking the coolant level. If it's low, that might happen

Had the same problem, once they bleed the system of air, problem solved.

even a small air pocket will rob you of hot air, and checking the reservoir won't tell you much if the pocket is small. just bleed your system and the problem will more than likely go away.

i will definately give you a call because im looking foward to doing mods as well. but as far as the three problems ive listed im actually supposed to take it to the dealer next monday. i bought a lexus before from same dealer and alignment was out and screwed up my tire but he paid for all new tires and alignment so he makes right what is wrong. the problem is they act like idiots and i have to tell them what is wrong. however if they don't fix this i will be in contact with you about this as well. is it better if i pm you cause im definately gonna need suspension but on other mods. thanks for all ur help

bump on this topic. im going to need to bring my car up to you in charlotte but im having a even bigger and more annoying problem. on the rear passenger side the brakes are making a horrible creeking/groaning noise but i know its the brakes cause it only does this noise when the brakes are applied? can somebody please explain to me exactly what it could be and a possible fix. ive searched noise and rear hub and every combo and couldn't find what i needed.

no hot air while you are not moving/idleing means you have an air pocket in your heater core. simply bleed your cooling system and this will go away. just make sure you get all the air out.
