Best Test pipes?
Update
Well the oil level has reached the add line on my 05, so I am down 2 litres. Car is going to the dealership today since they wanted it brought in once it hit the add line. I will let you guys know what they say when I find out later on. It hit the add line in a little over 1000 kms.

That sure sounds like a lot of oil useage to me.
Since a G35 Coupe holds about 5 quarts of oil total, including the filter, you would run completely out of oil in 1,552 miles.
That's half the recommended distance for an oil change. I will be very interested to see what your Infiniti dealer thinks of this. Thanks for the update.

Just curious about what happened.
Just wondering if you guys had tried the oil catch can mod between the lower collector and PCV valve?
I have a 2004.5 AT and have never noticed oil loss (dipstick always reads at max, have 18k on car now with changes about every 3.5k), but the little DIY bottle has collected a few teaspoonfuls of oil in just a couple hundred miles.
My car was not broken in per spec. It had a few hundred "test drive" miles on it before I got it.

It would be interesting for one of them to put on an oil catch can. They are certainly cheap enough... about $20 total. It would show where the oil was coming from, or maybe where the oil is not coming from.

So far, in our research and tests the issue has really been traced down to what looks like to be an oil compression or control ring issue. Some cars see the issue more than others. If you religiously check your oil, you may see it dipping down. If you change it frequently, like every 3000 miles, it will likely never bother you. People notice the issue once TP are installed the lack of back-pressure seems to enhance the issue as well as the lack of CATS allow the blow-by through the system, so there is an oil film on the back of the car.
CATS get super hot and burn it up, so it is rarely ever noticed, unless the oil is checked frequently.
If this becomes a large enough issue, as it seemingly is, and per a little birdie I know, I expect a TSB in the near future.
