Just installed stillen hfab, but the rubber area that connects the maf and intake hose is touching, should i just throw some wire loom, or something to that effect, around the ac line?

If it is rubbing you should wrap the wire loom or some rubber hose around the AC line. I have heard stories of people rubbing holes in their AC line which supposedly is a high dollar replacement. I have never heard of it with the Stillen Airbox (I had one).

Can you adjust it by loosening all the bolts (including the z-tube support) and pull away from the AC line as you retighten? You don't need much room just a 1/4" to a 1/2". If not, go with the wire loom or some rubber hose around the AC line.

adjust it ASAP - lots of people destoryd their A/c lines from the rubbing - costs about $900 to fix, unless you don't like a/c (like me ^_^ )

there's no metal to metal contact, just the rubber from the intake tubing touching the ac line.. kind of hard to adjust the tube itself especially when trying to bolt the air box to the strut... ill see what i can do, if not then ill have to get some loom or a rubber hose

got some wire loom, wrapped up the ac line top to bottom just to be on the safe side.. also putting some wire ties around the ac line and connecting to the brace hopefully that'll give me like 1/something of an inch differential

Better safe than sorry. Why worry about $900 repair when you can just spend a couple bucks on wire loom and zip-ties?

Yeah, just threw the wire loom on the areas that were rubbing... put some electrical tape, wire loom and zip tied the ends of the loom... the flexible accordian-like tubing touches the ac line, but i figured it was better to be safe than sorry... thanks all for the help

Where is the AC line? I just installed the tube today and nothing seems to be rubbing around the rubber accordian area, but the emissions tube is touching some other tube down there since the connection to the Z tube is underneath the tube instead of on top. I just want to make sure I'm not in for a bad suprise down the line. Pic of AC line? or anything else I should be aware of? Thanks!

the emissions tube should be fine, just make sure the tube isn't bent or out of its original shape.. the ac line is a thin silver tubing that runs predominately around the D/S area of the hood.. if you just installed the ztube you should be cool, but depending on the dynamics of aftermarket parts i would run some wire loom around the area the ac line where any conflict could occur...

when you look at the intake tube where the maf meets (sort of near the accordian area) you should see a thin metal tube with a cap on it, the cap has an "H" on it... just make sure the area is free from obstructions..
