The shop manual says to replace it, but you will be fine with using the current one ... just make sure to be careful with it and not bend when you remove-install the plenum.

It's good practice to always use new gaskets. So my answer would be yes use a new gasket.

gasket? what gasket? Is this the little black plug that you have to move from the old plenum to the new one?

No the gasket is a regular gasket, the black gasket (don't know what else to call it) that fits between the top plenum base and the top (the part you replace) like the bologna between two slices of bread.

hey gnome, is your car auto or stick. why did u only run a 14.3 with all those mods. i ran a 14.0 with an intake and exhaust, and should have been in the 13s if i got my launch down. something up with your time.

The time differences probably have a lot to do with where you raced. If one raced at relatively high altitude/high temps and the other raced closer to sea-level at lower temps, you may have quite a significant difference on time, speed, etc....

Mine is an auto and my problem was the tire spin at launch , look at my 60ft 2.347seconds thats pretty bad. Yes I should be in 14 flat, we will see next year for sure when i get better much wider tires.

Yeah you should be in the 13's with that speed. You gotta figure a way to stop all the wheel spin. Glad to hear your gettin better with the launches.
