I really would love to get the hiper but I'm also concerned with how loud it is. I wanted to know if the silencer works with it, and what the result is. Thanks.

 

you can purchase a universal 120mm silencer and slap it in there...but it won't look/sound very good IMO.

it's really not that loud unless you want it to be. just learn to control your car and you'll be fine.

 

I commute a lot for work so I wanted to cut down the drone at highway speeds. How bad is the drone? thx.

 

there is no drone with hks.

 

+1, there is no drone, unless your at about 2k rpm's consistantly (but that may be cause i have crawford cats also) anything over 1.6-2k with my setup has no drone.

You don't need silencer with HKS. I just installed hi-power and its very quiet. Its actually the same level as the stock from idle to 2.5k. It starts louder from 2.5k onward with higer tone, what people describes as exotic note.
I was bit disappointed its so quiet, lower than Fujitsubo+Nismo Y-pipe.

 

yup no drone in hks...if you go with injen there is drone or a little or youll get use to it...but invidia has slight drone i think
