I have not checked out the MPG's yet. (I have the car in the stereo shop doing more custom stereo work yet again. I honestly never even pay attention to MPG's). The way I drive it fluctuates all the time. I would say that on average (when I actually checked it, it was about 20 mpg. City/Hwy driving. I drive mostly on the Hwy to work and back which round trip is a bit over 100 miles a day. I will check it again after these mods I made and keep you posted. I know that I was going to go with the Stillen set up, but basically the JWT Pop & Stillen are designed the same. and are located in the same place. You are only enclosing the Air filter with the Stillen box. The air still comes in from the side (up front small scoop/directing air left to right), and the box below the intake, taking air down/up to the pop. I had a NISMO (CAI) before this and overall I like them both. You just "dig" deeper into the front fender if you want some more air. I just had too many experiences over the years with water. (I do have to say the JWT sounds like a mini-supercharger somtimes when I am punching it. I have a friend who has the stillen and basically they do the same thing, just different name and different look. ONE factor is the JWT will save you $150.00 b/c of the enclosure box and paying a bit more for the name. Back to your question Rocket, the overall increase of HP on the Ford Dyno was with the Z-tube, Pop-Charger, and Borla Exhaust. I will attach later the results. I am still stoked that the AT5 loses about 29% HP (Infiniti claiming 280 up front) from front to rear! After these mods I was able to increase rear wheel power by about 5-6% through the entire RPM range. The torque and hp drop off about 5400 RPM. This was not much of a gain, but more than what I started with! It sure sounds a lot better than stock!!! I wish N.O.S would come out with a system for it. I am really looking forward to a kit strictly for the 3.5L.

I like the K&N Typhoon, I have had no problems at all with it and notice a large pick up in the butt dyno. I dropped off my "G" for a 7500 check up and got a loaner for a cpl hours... 1st thing about the loaner I noticed was it felt like it had a rope tied around it's *****, and had a higher rev pitch. Mine with the Typhoon has a throaty low growl. The loaner actually did "feel" stronger in the lower rpms for some reason, probably was just the restricted sound of it tho.
I do love my K&N Typhoon.

Oh, here are some pix. I also had a AeM 3" bypass valve installed for those just in case rainy days here in Arizona.

I got the Typhoon for 229.00 the bypass valve for 40.00 and had it installed by for 35.00... I got it from a local shop but if you search on line you could brobably find it somewhere for less. If you drive a 6MT I have heard of some stalling issues so be carefull.

Ok, I have been planning this same thing. Popcharger and Z-tube. I haven't done anything under the hood yet and really haven't looked inside all that closely for some reason. This seems like a pretty easy install. Is there anything I should look out for that some of you have encountered while installing the JWT popcharger or z-tube?

I just got Popcharger+Z-Tube for now. It works fine and sounds nice as well ......

I have the Black Injen CAI. The quality of the intake is awesome. Everything fits perfectly and the sound it makes is awesome as well. Having said that, the install was tedious and long. Especially taking out the wheel, wheel well and stock airbox.
I think that all these intakes out there, CAI or not, are the same. They should provide the same growl and power throughout the rev range. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with the JWT PopCharger and Z-Tube. This is becuase this combo does not require you to take off the wheel or dismantle the entire stock airbox. Everything can be installed through the hood. And if the time comes to take it into the dealer for some serious repairs or to sell, you can easily take the intake combo off. Also, when the time comes to clean the air filter, you open the hood and its RIGHT THERE!!! I shudder at the day I have to clean my Injen Air Filter, since its all the way down in the bumper.
