Naturally Aspirated "GURUS", come in, come in...
Hey Guys!!
I think (pretty sure) I am going to try and sell my Stillen Stg2 SC kit that I never installed and keep the coupe NA.
So, since I haven't been on here in a while asking about NA "bolt on", I thought I would re-ask the question to get some good feedback and maybe start a chat or two about what's new out for our coupes (03'-07' models) for the Naturally Aspirated enthusiasts.
What I have: 2003.5 Coupe
Gordie Grouding Kit (love it!)
STILLEN "True Dual" cat-back exhaust (I kiss it good night, best mod I've ever done for this coupe!!!! - HIGHLY recommend)
What I was thinking of getting if going the NA route afterall:
1.) Motordyne 5/16" spacer w/ iso thermal
2.) Motordyne MREV2 lower plenum collector - can I use this on my non-rev with the 5/16" spacer with POSITIVE or NEGATIVE results!?!?
3.) STILLEN headers
4.) STILLEN High Flow cats
My main worries are the Motordyne combo asked in question #2 and then if that passes for a "good mod to do", then what would HF Cats and Headers do with that combo - good or bad outcome!?
I do NOT want to LOOSE TQ, I want MORE!! he-he
What else could I be missing for NA route? - Oh the ECU reflash! Forged Performance is a bicycle distance from where I work. Let them do the ECU or send it off to TECHNOSQUARE?
All comments welcome - I remember to put on my flame suit for anyone having a bad day.
Thanks Guys!

I'm biased and would say to get the Osiris for the ECU reflash. I know the MREV2 will make gains on all G35 motors, and although it's a much smaller gain than on revups, the tune should make it more worthwhile. You should add some cams to the list...
I would skip the MRev since you have a non RevUp... It is essentially the same manifold (albeit with a few tricks). At the least, I would do it last, after the other mods.
And get a tune at Forged... Osiris...
And get a tune at Forged... Osiris...
And he should do it before the tune, not last... Adding this afterwards is just asking to spend even more money on a re-tune.
^^^ yep, all good advice.
OP, as for what hfc to use... many ppl like Fast Intentions, I have Crawford (and like them) - one benefit to Crawford is that they look OEM (in case that matters to you)... Not many ppl have tried Stillens headers, but they were my 2nd choice (to Crawford) - I'd like to see more results from Stillen's headers, I think they would be worthwhile...
I would not have done headers without cams (however, the cost/benefit really isn’t worth it imo, even though I did it).
As Dofu stated, do all your breather mods before spending money on a tune - otherwise you'll be back re-tuning and spending more.
As for which ECU flash - I'm partial to Osiris because of its versatility - but TechnoSquare is very good (I've had both)... since you are out of town, Osiris makes more sense.
Why are you selling the Stillen SC?

It is a stock lower intake plenum, but it's been machined so all the runners get the same amount of air (as where a spacer smooths out the airflow inside by adding taller walls to better direct the air into the runners). Any G35 or Z can benefit from that.

About the CAMS...which ones do you all recommend? JWT? Who else makes them Stillen??
Thanks Guys!!

OCG35 - Great info as well. Fantastic guys, I new I could count on my family to help me out. I need to become a premier member - it's been long enough! Plus I'll have this Stillen Stg2 to sell now..
About the Osiris, I can tell now that it must be a "tuning tool". What about COBB then?
Let me post an re-cap next...
Thanks Guys!

Is there anything else I'm missing guys?
And...What kind of gains would I be looking at do you all think?

However, once you have an Osiris license from a Tuner, future tunes are usually for the price of the dyno and Tuner's time. It's not overly expensive to get your car retuned.
I honestly would not go with anything made by Stillen. For cams, I would definitely use JWT.
Headers is a tough one. They won't make any gains at all really, but with the amount of mods you're throwing in along with the tune, I'm not sure if they'll matter (I didn't get a chance to do a thorough test on the dyno before I threw in plenty more parts... I got lazy...) But I have DC headers. Supposedly, the Nismo is the best you can get, but the DC is a copy of that, while most others just copied the DC design.
As for the Osiris, it's basically a similar interface to the COBB... It really seems like they made a COBB for the G35s before COBB began their own R&D. The COBB should come with a hand held wired controller while the the Osiris uses your cruise control controls to change through maps.

IMO do all on the list other than headers and cams... I think you will be happy with intake, exhaust, plenum spacer and MREV2 (or wait for MREV3 if you have the patience), hfc and tune... 25-30hp 15-25 trq is feasible… cams & headers will be about 4K (give or take) for maybe 15-20 more hp. And 15 or so trq.
Yes, that's why I said it is essentially the same. The machining modifications do not add a lot to a non RevUp that already has a spacer. Read a few of Tony's posts.
I meant as the last of the mods...

I think I took your words a bit too literally...
I just have a thing against getting a retune if I don't have to... a good tune can cost anywhere from $150-400 (if not more) for just the labor and dyno time. Thats money that can be better spent on something else.
Technically, these are all breather mods...

I think in this case where he's getting all the mods and tune, if he gets cams, he should be able to make more power with the headers. I'd like to know though, because there's something about the feedback from people with only i/h/e telling us it doesn't make power that makes me wonder otherwise.

Osiris Standard comes with three custom ROM files created by UpRev specifically for the mods in your car. You can get them whenever you want. So, get one when you get Osiris, then get the others as you add mods. Each ROM file can have up to five maps that are changed through your cruise control buttons. The cruise control continues to work normally.
Osiris Pro Tuner is a special application that gives Tuners the capability to Tune your car in real time. A Tuner can hook your car up on a dyno and tune the OEM ECU just like he would with a UTEC or whatever piggyback or standalone. This results in a custom tune specific to your car.
