K&N messing up MAF's is pretty lame... http://www.knfilters.com/MAF/massair.htm

Granted this is coming from K&N... I've used them on every vehicle I've ever had and never had a problem. Not gonna pay $12-15 for one though...

I use the purolater pureONE air filter. Replaced every 15k. Advance Auto Parts carries purolator. Not all that expensive either. They also make great oil filters.

You really haven't replaced your air filter in 55K miles? Nasty!

Also, K&N's do not protect your engine better at all. In fact, they protect worse. You trade off air flow for filtering capacity.

I use Amsoil oil and filters in my bike. I had the K&N first, but switched to the Amsoil and love it. I didn't know they made one for the G, but now that I do I'll have to order one.

Yes you can buy a recharge kit from anywhere that sells the filter. That allows you to clean/oil it again in the future, but to me it's a pain in the ***.

I've posted that test also. It's too bad that one with the Amsoil's new absolute efficency unit isn't done.

But at least the SAE tests seem to make it somewhat comparable.
