Okay. The R2C and Stillen both look good and have good designs...now I just gotta decide between them. I don't suppose anybody has tried both?

I strongly suggest buying quality paper filters from Nissan or NAPA (Gold Series) rather than buying expensive "dry" filters from Apexi, Amsoil, etc. I had an Amsoil filter and I cleaned it out with compressed air every 6 months or so. Over the course of about 3 years, began to feel a bit laggy. Visually, the filter looked clean, but when I put the filter up to my mouth and tried to breath in, there was actually quite a bit of restriction. On a whim, I bought a NAPA Gold paper filter and compared the two. I could breath through the paper filter far easier. Yes, it's not the most scientific test, but when I put the NAPA filter in, the car felt FAR better. It was so much more responsive. I don't know what the deal was with the Amsoil filter, but it was about 3 years old and had about 35K miles. Maybe the filtering media becomes a bit gummed up over time or the media began to break down. Regardless, I'll stick to $10-12 paper filters and change them out annually rather than run the $25-35 serviceable filters At all costs, avoid oiled filters.

the A'PEXi is only $30, not that bad. i'd run it if i still had a stock intake box.

r2c intake is the best.

I've had mine in for over 2k mile and still loving every bit of it. Intake sound comes in at around 2.5 and keeps going. I enjoyed my revup box but the R2c is my fav. If you stick with oem box, use amsoil dry filter.

If you wait it out another month, Ill prob be doing a part out of my car and my intake will be fs.

What differences did you notice b/t the Revup box and R2C?

sound and thottle sensitivity.

performance wise it's about the same. no heat soak.

con - for R2C is fitment is 8.75 out of 10. takes a little adjusting to make it fit.

So it's more responsive/sensitive? Alright...if I go this route I think I might do Z-Tube+R2C...because their full kit is more expensive than that. (I'm assuming there's nothing special about their tube other than the look)

Depending on when you part out your car, I may be interested. Let me know

I have Ztube and the intake. not really worth it for the tube. I did have the tube at one time, cause I got it for free, but then sold it. Never did test it out.

My part out should be early to mid feb.

Interesting point Dave, what model car did you reference for these NAPA filters... the 03 G Sedan you have or an equivalent year Z? I'm not impressed with the "clean-ability" of the AMSOIL filters.. they rock when new... but like you stated, they seem as if they get a gummy feel to the paper media.. ya know?

Napa online will get you the p/n. Just reverence your year G. I did this yest to get the Napa gold number so I could order it and the cabin filters from fleet filters for cheaper.

Either car would work when sourcing the filter. It's the same exact part# works for my wife's 98 Legacy GT wagon, old 96 Maxima, and old 94 Z28. It's a very common size. The filter comes in a gold/yellow/black box. It's the higher end filter. They also have a cheaper one that's half the price, but the Gold appears much nicer.

Some good info on the filters, if I keep the stock intake I'll keep it in mind

The more opinions on these intakes the better

Also...I'm probably going to get a grounding kit soon. Considering an intake (obviously) and a Z-Tube. Are there any other mods that are cheaper/cost-effective?
