Re: Resonator removal

I changed my resonator to a magnaflow resonator and feel the sounds is great, but annoying at times. I think if you removed the whole thing, the exhaust sound would be way too loud. IMO.

It's still a G thang!!

Re: Resonator removal

I had a straight pipe put in place and loved the "rasp". It is evry close to the stock Z/Coupe exhaust note. The fact that the car will resonate you to death in another issue.

Re: Resonator removal

i too have the straight pipe and the rasp/droning has gone away considerably after y-pipe install......with my airbox mod and stock muffler, my exhaust note sounds like a sports bike when i'm on the throttle! if anything, removing that suitcase looking pre-muffler knocks off 30lbs, bathroom scale mehtod of course....

Re: Resonator removal

i too removed my stock choker of a mid-pipe. it looked like more restriction than the muffler, and weighs twice as much! i went with the magnaflow resonator, $80 installed at a muffler shop in 30 minutes. drone is loud... love it. it's moderate when cruising, but sounds awesome wot. i added the blitz nur-spec rear section (love the ricer look and sound). i got exactly what i wanted.

Is the sound deeper tone? I like the deep tone, my friend bought a catback for his Acura CL Type S and I love that deep tone.....

I visit a site on Magnaflow and it said that "coming soon", I assumed they are making it better than b4. Here is the link for it.

Can you provide some information on the magnaflow resonator you installed? model, size, etc..

I installed a Greddy exhaust but would like a little more growl.
