Don't do it unless you want to screw up your MAF sensor.

It lets in 45 times the dirt into your engine over a good paper filter.
Just go with a Napa Gold/Wix Air filter

I have been using K&N for years without any issues. Also have them on my G without any issues. I do believe for every person that talks negative about them, there are several that will talk positive about them. No issues with the sensors either, I believe several companies that produced oiled filters prove this issue to be unfounded.

Show me the '45 times the dirt' test. Where do all these legends come from? Been running them for years and ZERO MAF issues. That said, if I had it to do again, I might go with the Amsoil dry filter, just less hassle.

This looks like a semi-credible test: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothrea...postid=1864002 in which the K&N didn't stack up well.

I have used one in my Explorer for years with no probs at all. If you look at the filter in the light, you can practically see through it. No doubt that it doesn't filter as well as a paper filter, but my Explorer still runs fine. Not as much power as it used to have and idles a bit rough, but it's got 150k miles.

As for my G, I want it running in tip top shape for a long time so I'm sticking with paper filters.
