PPE Engineering LongTube Headers
#122
Have you tried consulting PPE on this?
My headers should be shipping out in a day or two from them, but I won't know the results until spring when I bring the car out of winter storage. I plan to do cams as well, but more aggressive than the S1/S2. I'm also 6mt, can't forsee any issues.

I did notice the step on the DE headers is located differently than their 370z LT. The step location on the 370z headers is similar to SG's close to the heads on or before the 1st bend of the primaries.
SG's dyno showed a dip in the lowend but for only a few rpm in almost the same area.
Post pics when you get them and like I said since your 6mt you can launch higher than the drop.
I hope all this doesn't steer people away the headers make power especially in the mid-range.
If I didn't drag race so much I wouldn't mind the lowend loss so much, but I need that since I can't rev higher than 2200 to launch.
I want to see a 6mt dyno.

Tony here is better picture of my cipher log on the below dyno. Car is floored at 3025 TP goes up to 3.99 and stays there until 4300 except for the blip at 4k which you can see on the dyno sheet. TP stays at 4.12 after 4300.
I also noticed my timing stayed at 30-32 during the while drop and then went down to 29-27 when power started to climb.

During your tests did yours pick up, drop, then pick up again.
Who knows what percentage the throttle is open between 3.98v and 4.12v.

Did PPE do their own dynos and get different results? It would reveal a lot if they had completely different results.
You do have entirely different cams....
I get the impression that the dyno results are real and related to the tube resonance tuning but if this is the only dyno in existence for them we can't be sure.

While working in Charlotte i stopped by CIN tuning to see what they can do about the dip in power and thoughts.
CIN said the same thing as RT Tuning and Hydrazine it's most likely the header/ cam combo. CIN was able to smooth it out a little with some gains.
I plan on keeping them I'm just going to add a high stall converter. I love the added midrange and topend.
PR Driver here a dyno comparing my numbers to a stock 5at.

CIN tuned dyno car feels alot different launching. The car ran 13.4 on the dyno when I got there with a 1.6 60ft. After was 13.04 with a 1.6 60ft.

I have to send this dyno to PPE also to see what the they think the issue is. I think it's the step location or the piping diameter.
My momentum headers were 1 3/4 as is most headers.
SD how are you liking the cams so far? I think I'm going to get the aluminum DS need money for the converter.
