Im hearing that I will be running to lean with the MREV2 and 5/16 Spacer on my NON Revup. Whats the AVG cost for a tune?

Almost. The MREV2 is a modified lower plenum.

And yes, the revup has several changes that make it react differently to this mod. I think some of it may also be in the ECU to compensate better for changes in A/F.

More tests need to be done on the nonrevup to see if it runs lean as a generality.

That depends on your local dyno shop. You might want to ask them.

Can our engines be 'tuned' without some type of ECU enhancement? eg. UTEC, EManange, Technosquare, etc. Thanks.

Officially or unofficially?

I would think that if you had a UTEC and ran into a problem - you could "unplug" and take it in. Of course that assumes it's mounted in a way that makes it removable if needed...

I don't know if the dealer could "figure" out if the ecu had been reflashed.

Avg cost of Technosquare or AA Reflash is $495-$595. And you need to ship them your ECU or drive there.

If you're concerned about warranty, keep your car stock. Warranty issues and mods are very complicated and vary by dealerships and what mood your service department is in. I can hardly see anything going bad with proper tuning.

I think UTEC or anything that is simply tunable in future would be better as it is easy to change something at later date. Besides, mail-in reflahs will NEVER give you a perfect tune for your car as there needs to be some sort of margins for the maps in order to be compatible for all G's.

$700??? Mine was just over $500 - but that was in person... I guess shipping and insuring (for shipping) is really pricey.

I didn't read the 350Z post regarding whether or not dealer knows if ECU has been re-mapped, but one easy way for them to know (if they had a suspicion for some reason) would be to push the rev limiter. If it goes beyond factory settings, they'll probably know it's been re-flashed.

Most performance oriented dealer service departments know what’s going on out here in the mod world and know what we can/are doing to our Gs.

Tustin Infiniti service wants to get in the aftermarket biz but the service manager is against it… It’s weird because Costa Mesa Infiniti (same owner) sells all kinds of Stillen products (not just cosmetic either). Too bad their service plain sucks!

And they watch these boards too!
I'm sure they know of everything going on here.

I wonder if some of them get pissed seeing that there is now a 100% stealth plenum mod on the market. Haha!

The Mad Modder at work!

Tony, what ever became of the "test" mods you were doing at Church's last time I saw you... not the recent MREV-2, prior to that. Any more development there?
