Headlight help!!!!

So the dealer told me it had a bad ballast,.. and was gonna charge $300 to fix it, ( i have a 04 coupe btw...lol )

i have aftermarket HID's on my 240 so i know those would work fine, for a cheaper cost too.

i got the HID's, hooked it all up and nothing

:-/

idk if my car has a headlight fuse that may have blown?.....my other cars do, i just cant find it on the G anywhere.

there is also a yellow (looks like) ground wire from the harness from the OEM bassast that my aftermarket doesnt have,..idk if that could be the problem!

just help me nukkKas!....pretty prease!

Just go by to OEM, and purchase a used OEM ballast from ebay. Your aftermarket ballasts will likely die soon anyways. Then check all your fuses including the ones behind the battery

are you trying to hook-up an aftermarket ballast to the stock bulbs?

No sir, but the bulbs do look similar.

I got new bulbs and ballast,.. ballast hooks up to stock ballast harness,...and then new harness that hooks up to the bulb. OEM has a ground connected to it ( where ballast meets bulb ) that the aftermarket doesn't have...so that could be a problem ( I doubt it but... ) idk, I can see how this would be confusing...lol

I could post pics later if that'll help

I know exactly how the headlight wiring works and how to wire up ballasts(OEM or aftermarket). It seems you don't know because you aren't able to pinpoint your problem and asking a very generalized question which can't be answered with more information. Try hooking the ballasts up directly to the battery and see if they light up the bulbs, that would eliminate them being an issue. Reconnect your 1 good ballast and see if that still works. That should eliminate a fuse issue. Otherwise, take it to a shop that knows what they are doing so they can diagnose your wiring.

The ground isn't necessary either, if you are talking about the one hooked up to the ignitor

The fuse box they are referencing is ocated behind the battery. You have to remove the battery and the cover. It is a little black box against the firewall.
