You can pay it in the court. If you refuse to remove it then you should be prepared for a second ticket (uncorrectable) which would be $300 in the futher.

my idea

Could you just find a similar car from a friend or car lot... test drive the car away from the lot (without a car dealer. carmax lets you drive the car for 3 days if you plan to buy it and before you pay) Swap plates and get it signed off?

This would work right?

yeah I was really debating that im sure it will work if you get a random cop to sign it off. They dont really go in depth of making sure its your car only the plates, color, and year.

HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN CALIFORNIA?
Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In California, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.
• Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield.
• Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
• Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used.
• Rear Window Any darkness can be used.

That is taken from tintlaws.com

check your statues to be sure. 75% would be okay maybe....

If you have to remove your tint this is the easiest way, safest way that will leave no glue residue behind, just make sure to protect your interior as best as possible.

I have done this many times and it always works.... shops will usually charge you about the same price to remove as they do to install. I charge people $25 to do 2 windows and $60 for all windows. Takes me about 2 hours at most.
