Well since my old tails were smashed I ripped the housing apart and started taking measurements for a new outer LED ring. When done Ill have 2 LED rings that light up more like the Skyline tails. Ill be rerouting the inner LEDs next to the reverse lights and moving them to the new outer ring. That way I dont have mess around with wiring at all.

Just finished modeling the part in Solidworks and Ill start machining it at work next week. After that Ill bond it to the dremeled housing and mask everything and spray the new part with chrome to match the rest of the inner housing.

Still looking for a donor light if anyone has one. My inner housing was destroyed in an accident so I need a tail, the red lense can be smashed or cracked... all I need is the inner chrome housing.

Ill be posting pics of my progress along the way.

Ya I may do something like that just to darken up the tails. I dont want a full blackout, maybe just give the tails a darker shade. hopefully darkening the chrome housing will achieve that.

Since Ive posted last night Ive already tweaked the part. Trying to get the reflective divets on the curved surface is proving to be a difficult task.

Depending on how hard this is when I do mine I may start doing this for others if it goes smoothly.

Started machining this morning. Cut the program time from 9 hours down to 2 hours with some tweaking of G code. Thats just for the back, the front will prob take another 2 hours.
