I would just do a TL projector retro into the lower area, paint them and call it done. You can rewire the projectors to be your hi/low.

HOW TO OPEN LIGHTS

1. There are (4) 10mm screws that need to be remove with 10mm socket wrench.
2. Once you pull out the headlights, remove the wire clip that hold it and everything should be completely out.
3. Behind the headlights has a weather seal to protect the bulbs. Remove that by turning counter-clock wise
4. Since i have HID, you should remove ballast by using a phillip screwdriver (3 screws each side)
5. Unclip the ballast and remove the wire from it.
6. Remove all turns/parking light bulbs.
7. i DID NOT remove my HID bulbs. just left them in after i unplugged the haness.

OPENING UP THE HEADLIGHT
1. On your headlight should have small phillip screws around them that need to be remove (forgot how many)
2. Preheat your cooking oven @ 250 degree for 5 minutes.
3. 5 min is up, sit a piece of tin foiled cardboard on top of the plate.
4. Place your headlight on top of the cardboard. (make sure no wires or bulbs are attached
5. Bake your headlight for 5-7 minutes.
6. After 5-7 minutes, remove it from the oven. The silicone should be
melted and gooey. pry the taps along the housing and try to pull the lense apart starting from the corner. make sure to keep the headlights facing up , so no glue will fall on the lense. PITA to get off.may need to bake again for a couple of minutes if it doesnt pull apart easily.
7. While opening, make sure no silicone stick inside your housing. If yes try to clean it off.

PAINTING

1. The chrome housing is held by (2)phillip screwdriver that need to be remove.
2. The orange lense is easy to remove with a dremal.
3. Paint the chrome housing with primer.
4. Once primed you can paint the housing with your paint.
5. do several light coats from different angles.
6. You need to let the paint dry first before putting everything back together.

BACK TO THE OVER!!!
1. Push your headlight back together as much as you can.
2. make sure NO FINGER PRINTS on the inside of the lense.
3. turn oven back on @ 250 degree place the headlight on top of the cardboard for 5 min.
4. Remove it and push your headlight back together as much as your can. then screw back the 3 phillips screw and the 2 halves should tighten together real nice.
5. rebake for 5 min
6. Let it cool before re-installing them.

DOMO no post some picks you ****

I think you mentioned it before but I forgot, which was more effective, the retro you did in the upper area or the retro in the lower area?

IMO the best bang for the buck is to do a set of TL bi-xenon projectors in the lower area. They are too big for the upper. If you want just the low beams do S2000 or TSX in the upper.

it doesnt matter how the light sits in the oven, just as long as nothing is touching the sides of the oven.

no need for the wet cardboard, dry cardboard will work fine, and the moisture from the wet cardboard will cause steam to condense on the projector lenses

what cardboard what?!

heat the oven to 350. then Turn OFF. put the light in. wait 10 minutes. take it out and pry apart. that is the safest way to warm up the rubber putty without melting the plastic.

Do you just set it on the metal rack then? I put it on a baking tray covered in aluminum foil with a piece of carboard so that the thermal conduction due to direct contact is minimal on the backside of the headlight

It's fine on the metal rack. It never left a print or anything. The oven actually cools down faster than the part heating up. So around 10 minutes it's just the right time to take out. If not the rubber will just cool off again.
